As I recall, a similar thread for last seasons transfer window had well over a 1000 posts. 99% of which were either laughably bad rumours or posters naming their favourite player from another club who we had no zero chance of ever signing (whatever happened to that young Cambridge midfielder who was outstanding against us in the cup?)

Indeed I would go as far to say that some of our key summer signatures were missed completely, and we're only picked up when officially announced by the club.

I'm calling it now there's going to be over 1000 posts throughout the summer (I'll read them all, in hope/belief), most of which will turn out to be nonsense.

Well done to anyone who makes a correct call in advance of a player signing. I applaud you in advance.

Generally I would agree with you on the rumours.

But I do seem to remember the rumour about certain players being at the club for medicals / talks were pretty accurate. These were normally circulated about two days before any official announcements were made.

Yeah, all the click bait stuff about Qpr must, or should go for plsyer X/Y should always be taken with a huge pinch of salt. But I like reading those articles because I just want something QPR related in the summer......they can have my click!!

I have always been a supporter of Marti and up to a few weeks ago I would have totally agreed with you.

I just can't help thinking that this current situation is of his own making. As other posters have pointed out elsewhere, he knew the challenge he was taking on when he joined us. We stuck by him after a terrible run at the start of the season and even offered him a new contract. The terms of the challenge facing our club was no different when he agreed to that contact extension. Having signed the extension, he then decides he wants more ambition and his representatives talk to other clubs - those club/s decide against him, and consequently our club now faces a scenario where we are going to have to pay off the rest of his contract in order to appoint a new manager to start the rebuilding plan for next season.

I genuinely liked Marti, but I do feel let down by what has happened. Perhaps if he stayed on and we enjoyed some success then all would be forgotten, but I can't help thinking that ship has now sailed.
