After Juliens comments on the difficulties of foreign players settling in last season, I took that to refer to Cellar. It seems he'll still be with us. I reckon we'll need four strikers with Frey already injured for the first friendly and Kolli being treated like he's made of glass.

If Julien likes Kelman then he should sign a new contract. If he won't, then sell him for good money now whilst his stock is high.
Tbh Kelman only one who looks like he can stay fit Frey no chance Kolli made of matchsticks Celar played other day did ok ish but he's been out longer than JCS which takes some doing I can't really see us selling him with others durability and he linked up well with the wide men, trouble is dilemma offer him new deal and he's not got it this league or decent cash comes in and replace with even a loan or permanent

    • Would you sign Callum Wilson on a free? Proven goal scorer who would work well with all our youngsters and guarantees goals but did have a fair few injuries last season.
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

How about this one. Someone making the argument of us going for Sterling. So which QPR fans would welcome him back and which ones say he is way past it and wouldn't offer much to the team?

        • Don’t rate him than much now & no thanks

He’s only 30 not like he’s lost all his pace etc had a poor year at Arsenal so you’d say if pep binned him and Chelsea and gooners didn’t get much from him at the top end of the prem but we ain’t top end of it would he offer more than dembele, poku chair he should but not sure if he would now we seem to be recruiting players potentially point to prove develop them under nourry and I like that plan going forwards so a no from me

on another note I can’t wait for the season to start bored as fk the women’s euros is pony not watched 1 min of world club and the crickets either good or bad and I get than from Rs all to often but not this season

Salary and has got Wright-Phillips written all over it. We need players with hunger on the way up in the games not those on the way down and out.

              • Used to be one of the top attacking players around but for reasons unknown to me has been on downward slope a while now. Think Saudi probably only place that would pay him what he would likely want.

As Sheep says salary for us would be ridiculous and could be disastrous flop. If he was willing to take average Championship salary (probably about 1% of what he gets now!) with generous bonus package would take him. Even a slowed down Sterling would be brilliant at this level if he was up for challenge.

Totally agree probably on 250k a week unless Chelsea fund his pay not many in prem can sustain him never mind championship and tbh I don’t know if he’d offer more than Dembele poku who also have pace to burn I know only stevenage but Dembele looked sharp Saturday

I'd go along with that. He could have the skills to add that extra edge to our performances and results AND be a mentor to our developing players, if the price was right.

BUT, he'd probably want silly money, so its not an option.

£250k a week works out to be £35k a day. I suppose we could sign him and ask him to come in for training on a Monday morning and give him the rest of the week off....!!!

Too old and no resale value.

Have a read of the letter issued by the Board last week.

I understand there won't be a real sale but surely you can have a couple of players in the team that don't offer it, however they offer potential promotion and 25 goals a season which we've clearly been lacking. I do need to read that email but you can't have a whole squad of youngsters

I hear you, but the Board has decided its not part of their strategy. Also, the average age of the Chelsea first team last year was 24yrs, thats what we're chasing. Not a team of Harry Rednapp's old boys.

The strategy is to create a financially sustainable club, and promotion seems to be a nice to have. The Board has asked supporters to be patient with young players who are developing. Nouray has also stated in the past that throwing young players into the first team will increase their development.

The days of signing players in their late 20s & early 30s and having development players at 23yrs who have hardly kicked a ball in anger in the first team have long gone. Every position on the pitch will be occupied by a player who has the potential to be sold for a profit.

Talk of Wilson, Sterling and Hayden and the like are non-starters. We will bring in players 21-24yrs and hope to sell by the time theyre 27yrs. The only exception as I read the situation will be our boys who have proved themselves and get extended when their contracts run out.

                            • Stirling will end up at somewhere like Rangers or Celtic

If junior Hoilett can still play and score goals in the spl at 35 then Stirling certainly can at 30

                              • Are we still looking for a left back? Leeds have let Junior Firpo leave as a free agent. No idea what his wage demand would be but just an observation.
