    Summer Transfer Window

Have we got any??? I don't know what we have at youth/development level but if we grab some points in next couple of games it would be handy to see them promoted to matchday squad during our last few dead rubber matches... give them the once over to see if they're any good.

This, and the midfield, are more important than any other role.

We can spend what we like on strikers but until we have players that fit this style of play there's no point because they'll just run around aimlessly like ours do now.

Full backs have to be the most sought after players in the world after strikers at the moment?

We tried to sign Callum O'Dowda before he went to Cardiff, probably for bigger money. If Cardiff go down he might become available? If he's any good???

Thing is, we do actually have forwards and midfielders, it just doesn't feel like we do cos they are taking turns to get injured.

But, we have barely anything af full-back: Paal, Ashby and errrr...

I don't count Dunn and Fox - they're just emergency cover. They're no more a full-back then say, Field is.

But whatever, all of the above are offski this summer and we're left with buggerall. We seem to have been a bit thin in term of numbers AND quality at fullback for a number of seasons, it feels like the club aren't assed about FBs and have a "he'll do" sort of view on them.

Personally, I reckon a solid pair of robust FBs either side of Nardi, JCS and Morrison would give us a very solid basis for next season's campaign. I'd put them top of the list of what to acquire.

Larkeche, Vale and Esquerdinha as our left back options into pre-season with a view on signing someone else if it doesn't work out before season starts. Maybe an old head again to fill a role for a season or two.

No idea about right backs though or what we might do there.

Is Justin Channing avaliable? Or Mark Dennis?!!!!
Agree that we need to be signing proper full backs. Ones that can stay fit too.

We need to start playing Esquerdinha for the final few games now we're safe. This young left back had all the European sides after him Barcelona, man city etc but he choose us as an understandable chance to make the starting 11 so I think their has to be huge potential because Barca don't try and sign a youngster for no reason. Rave reviews about him in Brazil too! Think will lose Yang but they same age so let's play a player that we decide his future not his parent club
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

I'd forgotten Larkeche. He's okay in my view bit I have a feeling Marti don't rate him (but I have no actual evidence of that). The Brazilian lad is 19 yrs old and that makes him well old enough I think but the club has a habit of treating these young men like delicate little kids until they're about 23. As WeAre says: chuck him in and see what he's made of.
As for Vale, blimey, posters on here have previously described him as a midfielder, an attacker and a wide player..... where does he bleeding play!?

Perry Ng from Cardiff is a fullback who I rate, but he offers no resale value which is our business model, isn't it?

Vale van play anywhere down the left is my understanding.
But at Bristol Rovers he mostly played LB.

I suspect he will want to play further forward, but he's still an option there for next season.

Sign Saito, hopefully that's already a done deal.

He'll 100% be here next season. Unfortunately he'll be in a Saints shirt though.

Cook rumoured to be about to sign a new deal

Would be great to keep Cook. Been an important player on and off the pitch and whilst the focus should be on developing younger players I always like having some old men in the squad to pass on their wisdom and help manage the dressing room. Not to mention means we will start the summer with three CBs in place. Still have FBs to sort out but takes pressure off finding additional CBs albeit one or two more will be needed for cover/competition.

If as the article suggests talks have been delayed pending seeing what division we will be in then perhaps there will be talks with some of the others whose contracts end in the summer.
