  • 18-year-old midfielder Isak Alemayehu has travelled to London to undergo a medical with Queens Park Rangers ahead of his move to the Championship side.

According to Swedish outlet Expressen, Alemayehu is already in the capital to go through the necessary medical tests to become a new member of the R's. After that, few details will be left to sort out before the Djurgarden player can officially sign his new deal.

The club's director of sport, Bosse Andersson, stated on Friday that the 18-year-old, who has come through their academy, had left to go and do a medical with his new club, which, at the time, was not specified. QPR will pay a transfer fee to sign Alemayehu, who was just months away from becoming a free agent at the end of 2025.

"I can confirm that Isak has permission to travel and meet with a new club to undergo a medical and sign his personal agreement," said Andersson, via Expressen. "The clubs agree on a transfer."

        • Despite my pessimism I see the Ronnie Edwards saga is growing some legs... some interweb ####ter out there suggesting he's discussing terms with us.... Imagine it turns into an Isak standoff!

          • Apparently an 18 year old midfielder coming for a medical. Isak Alemayehu from Djurgaden. Will be a fee although I suspect not much and would be surprised if seen as anything more than an addition to the development squad. That said has some first team experience over there although did score against Chelsea last season!

Surprised to see we bid for Edwards and would be stunned if we got him. Should be very much with top end Championship side with a look to promotion and then playing in Premiership. Whilst I'm sure he enjoyed his time with us can't see him coming back.

interesting thing is the willingness to splash cash after Eze sale.

              • Ronnie Edwards has to be the priority now. Southampton have just sold Fernandez to West for 40m so probably not that bothered about money but he isn't starting so you could look at that as a positive. They have plenty of money to improve their starting 11
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

                • If we need more cash to get Ronnie it would be very tempting to cash in on Verane to finance it. If we could push a deal through at £5m.

The link to Harun Ibrahim could be Varane's replacement. Also, Dunne has played defensive midfield in the past.

                    • Could be cheap at twice the price.

Yes. Don't really understand why Varane's stock is so high with many of us? He's average in my view.. had an iffy start last season then did settle down. He was better than Andersen and Madsen but that's a low bar. I don't see him ever taking the game by the scruff of the neck or "dominating". Offers nothing going forwards and doesn't seem to be a focal point for linking play with the attack - he's just been a cog in our slow plodding play and hasn't done much to address the fact we're too soft, too easy to play against and too easy to get at.

He's certainly not a liability and I'm not itching to launch him either. BUT £4/£5 Million would be a tidy profit I'd consider. Moreover, if that money greased the wheels for a move for Edwards it does become very attractive. I actually think Edwards would be a better defensive midfielder than Varane.

With Edwards out of the Southampton first team surely £6-7m would get him. Theyd double their money on him then. With our permi and loan signings this summer, I doubt whether theres enough of circa £13m left from the Eze & Kelman money to fund Edwards without selling another player. I agree that we'd be in better shape with Varane out and Edwards in.

The only other player that would generate a decent fee would be Kolli. I think Leicester are quite keen on him. Again, Edwards would be better for the team than Kolli.....perhaps?

Perhaps theres the option of doing a swap deal with Southampton for either Varane or Kolli?

                          • What about Chair, weren’t Leicester interested last week, and just get shot of Madsen somehow.

That should raise £5 to 6,000,000 for the pair.

I ´d keep Varane, he’s a far better prospect than Madsen, Varane reminds me a little of Don Masson.

                            • Any rumours guys?

I don’t think we’ll see much happening inbound. A few loans going out I reckon.

Will we have enough strength in depth if that is the case?

                              Thoughts ?
