Larkeche and esqerdinha will both be moved on now. Both arent good enough to be relied upon as back up to kemper. We need two quality players in every outfield position if we want to be strong and competitive over a 46 game season. Its a great signing for zero money.

Burnley signed a ball playing centre half Max Alleyne on loan from Man city so doubt they will pay big money for Ronnie now.
Cirkin and Kemper seem like a good pair of left backs for the season but we must sign an energetic box to box midfielder for any chance of play offs in my opinion.👍 1Comment

Surely we need someone to leave for decent money? We've signed so many players without any real money coming in. If we wanted £15m for Ronnie, perhaps we'll now accept £12m having got a player on a free transfer?

No soundbites around any other players leaving so surely we need to get this deal done to bring some cash in now?👍 1Comment

I might be wrong but aren’t all the signings out of contract and a loan for Charles ? Might of paid a bit for ward ? But we’ve had fees for Field, Mahoney plus let a fair few go in cook, edb santos etc with a few more to follow both left backs will go

Imo first season for a long time we got a squad that can compete the other half of the leagueComment

The last reported accounts to May 2025 confirm we have lost £55m over the previous three seasons. Last season, accounts not due yet, we spent €15m / £12m on transfer fees. Yes, we have moved some plsyers out this summer and brought others in. Ward cost €760k / £500k and we sold Field for £1.5m

Our policy is to buy and sell snd theres been a lot of buying and no big selling. Selling Ronnie for £12m should mean we'll break even on our 25/26 player investment.

This season we start completely from scratch as Squad Cost Ratio regs come into play. This is an example of how it works…https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/a...s/c0m7xn7j4zko

When I used AI the last accounts submitted showed the club spent around 107% of income on squad wages and transfer dealings.
In the article it describes how SCR was trialed alongside the older Profit and Sustainability Rules last season so I’m assuming we passed or we would be under a transfer embargo at a minimum this season.
It probably does mean the club needs to increase revenue to get a firmer grip on complying with SCRComment

We haven't got anyone worth decent money yet. We need a good season pushing for top 6 with players playing well then maybe get some decent fees at end of season. Best way to get money is get promoted , speculate to accumulate.

Thanks for that Mincer, I wasn't aware it came in for this season.

Its great that we start from scratch and that may be why we bought big last season, as any sales this season would increase our player budget from this season.
"The Squad-Cost Ratio (SCR) includes both player wages and transfer fees, but transfer fees are factored in through amortisation (spreading the fee evenly across the length of the player's contract) rather than as a single lump sum when the player is bought".
But to compete with the bigger teams, the aim must be sell players for large transfer fees, and use that money to subsidise the wages of better quality free transfers?
It does suggest to me that only the biggest clubs will able to afford transfer fees and these values may get suppressed over time?
We desperately need to sell Ronnie to get our wages budget as high as possible. Over three seasons it should increase the wages budget by £4m a season. That alone would fund five players a season on £15k a week.Comment

Decent summer in my view so far. GK situation hopefully improved on, same with full backs. Hopefully Camara can add something in midfield.
Only issue is strikers. We need at least one, two if Kolli goes. Only having two senior strikers in squad is going to hurt us big time if we don't do something about it. If we do and if JS can get us motoring no reason we can't be dark horses.👍 1Comment

If we give them some half decent service they could. Too many games last season it was like our more attack minded players had just met in the car park before the game. On paper we should be creating loads of chances for our strikers. A lot of the time they were feeding off scraps.Comment

Send him out as he'll get plenty of game time there and play in a team pushing for promotion. Send him a few more too. Ollie has been very critical of his team in pre season and he expects very high standards.Comment
