Really pleased with the arrival of Boy Kemper. I know it's easy to say the right things for publicity's sake, but I get the sense that he really means it. The kind of presence we need both on the pitch and in the dressing room by the looks of it.

This is such a mouth- watering prospect that even I will need a bloomin' hydration break if we can sign him!Originally posted by SheepRanger View PostQpr have been credited with interest in Cádiz midfielder Moussa Diakité, with Spanish outlet Radio Cádiz reporting that the Championship side are among the clubs monitoring the Mali international this summer.
At 22 years old, he combines youth with a relatively significant amount of senior experience, having already accumulated 62 appearances for Cádiz despite his age. He has also broken into the Mali national team, earning his first senior international cap this season, further enhancing a profile that already carries considerable upside.
Standing at 6ft 2in, Diakité would immediately add physical presence to a midfield group that could soon lose two of its most combative operators. Yet reducing him purely to a physical midfielder would do him a disservice.
His defensive numbers from last season are particularly eye-catching. Among midfielders in La Liga 2, he ranked in the 94th percentile for defensive actions, the 98th percentile for ball recoveries and the 92nd percentile for interceptions. Those are elite figures regardless of league context and point towards a player with an excellent understanding of defensive positioning, anticipation and timing.
The duel statistics are equally impressive. Diakité won 58% of his ground duels and 62% of his aerial duels last season, placing him in the 86th and 87th percentiles respectively among midfielders in the division. In a Championship league renowned for its physical demands, those numbers immediately stand out.

Loss allowed is£42.5m not £35Originally posted by SheepRanger View Post
FFP/PSR will never go away for clubs like ours. You can see the losses below, which get reduced for infrasture academy spending etc. But as far as I know youre only allowed to lose £35m over a 3yr cycle. We've lost £55m over the last three seasons, and we might be okay after deducting the money spent on the new training ground and academies. But the FA financial regulations aside, the club want a sustainable club!! If there's decent money being offered to any of our players they'll be gone.
My fag packet assessment suggests we need to bring in £30m every three years to meet the club's financial policy and keep FFP/PSR away. But to truly break even its £55m every three seasons, which is £18m per season in player sales!!
2024/25 Season: Reported an operating loss of roughly £20.1 million (with revenues at £28 million).
2023/24 Season: Reported an annual operating loss of £21.4 million.
2022/23 Season: Reported an operating loss of approximately £13.5 million.

You are salivating over an AI slop summary of him - don't be influenced by AI, it's pisspoor and unreliable (but I'm not sure Nourry knows that).Originally posted by Acton Stations View Post

Noticed he's out his hair in rows/braids for the kit photo shoot. Wonder if it's a new style for him. But I suspect most won't care here, but it feels like a change of attitude could be on show.Originally posted by Acton Stations View Post
Totally agree on both counts.
I just feel that releasing Rayan Kolli now we'd be shooting ourselves in the foot. I know he blows hot and cold but he's only 21 and I'd certainly be prepared to give him another chance particularly if there's uncertainty about the future of Burrell.

I'm usually a sucker for a pun, however, on this occasion I am very pleased that I managed to resist the overwhelming temptation to comment, in relation to his new hairstyle, that he has been "upbraided" for his inconsistency....,,,Oh no! I've done it again!!!!!!Originally posted by LordLoftus View Post

On a serious note though, I hope you're right and that this does signal positive intent. Also, I'm not sure it makes sense to model next season's kit on players who are earmarked for imminent sale? Or maybe that angle doesn't matter as everything has a price tag, but I really hope you're right because I think we are yet to see the best of him.

The new rules seem stricter than beforeOriginally posted by davieqpr View Post
Loss allowed is£42.5m not £35
"Starting with the 2026/27 season, EFL Championship clubs operate under Squad Cost Rules (SCR), which limit spending on player and manager costs to 85% of their total football revenue rather than using a flat loss limit. Clubs are also permitted a flexible equity top-up allowance of up to £33m over a three-year period to boost spending capacity.
Under this framework, how much a club can lose heavily depends on its revenue and owner-funded injections, fundamentally shifting the division away from the old Profitability and Sustainability (P&S) £39m loss limit.
The EFL's new SCR financial structure includes the following components:
The 85% Rule: A club's aggregate costs for players and coaches (wages, agent fees, and amortized transfer fees) cannot exceed 85% of their total football operations revenue.
£33m Equity Allowance: Owners are permitted to inject up to an aggregate of £33m over three years. This equity injection counts toward a club's total revenue pool, allowing the club to spend more on squad costs than it inherently generates alone.
Exempted Investments: EFL rules continue to exempt specific expenditures from financial calculations, such as investments in infrastructure, youth development, and women's football".

As long as it's not fully guaranteed and a paycut I have no issue with that really. If it lets us focus our recruitment elsewhere it's good business. He was being eyed by premiership teams during his previous run in the team so should still be a good championship defender even if he's lost part of a step.

Seen it too many times over decades to be taken in again: perennially injured sicknote players ALWAYS miraculously recover their fitness in the few months before their contract expires.
With Ronnie, Dunne, Morrison and Springbok Smith on the books I'm not seeing a pressing need to commit to JCS and I would not risk giving him any sort of permanent deal. I suppose we could stretch to a cagey pay-as-you-play arrangement but I doubt he'd sign up for that.
