    This feels like groundhog day.

At some point we have to roll the dice and give a manager at least 2 full seasons (preferably 3), before we start demanding they leave.
How are we ever going to build something if we keep changing the foundations every 1 to 1.5 seasons?

I hope commonsense prevails, but somehow, I doubt it will.

Also, he worked under the last year of major financial constraints, which were loosened this season for Marti's full first season.

Gareth's resign was in part hindered by the team given to Warburton as a promotion push. That was boom or bust and it nearly bust us for the next two seasons.

Gareth and Marti have both done their bit keeping us in this league. Ive read as much bad press on this MB of both managers' teams.
Ainsworth kept us up by luck and other teams getting point deductions. Not his fault but he should never have been appointed.
I am 62 now and supported Rangers since my first game in 1970. Most managers here have tried to play attacking , passing football., bar the odd few. We are well known throughout football for being a club that likes to play good football with a flair player in the 10 shirt , along with teams like West ham , Spurs and so on.
We have got a few flair players in our squad but Marti is not a flair manager , he plays negative tippy tappy sideways and backwards football and hopes to nick a result , rather than take the game to the other team , play on the front foot and attack . If we lose so be it , i would rather lose this way than keep losing the way Marti plays.

You have to have revolving management until you find the right one , especially when you have a small budget like us.

Hard to not have revolving door when Snake Beale decided grass was greener NC and GA were never the right appointments in the first place

Also make be smoke blowing from MC agents to sound out if club will back him and may not have actually spoken to WBA but sounding out plans for summer

But how many more seasons do we keep replacing while looking for the right one?

I understand all the comments made by posters wanting MC out.
Tippy happy and sideways has not just been Marti, but also a few before him.
I just believe it take more than 2 seasons for a manager to get the full squad he wants & playing the way he wants.

Not many managers last two or more seasons these days. In our position anyone decent will be poached by a club higher up the food chain. That is why I believe clubs like Brighton have the right approach. It is more about the club than individual managers so there it has not been difficult for them to slot in managers painlessly when they have needed to. I get the impression we are trying to get to that stage here but it will take time. Despite the trials of this season and last we are seeing signs the club are trying to do things differently.

WBA do offer better promotion prospects and probably quite a lot more money. That said they have their own issues so not necessarily straightforward.

That Marti is getting linked with them and likes of Norwich paints a picture of someone who is rated at Championship level so can move up a bit but not rated so highly he is linked with upper level Championship/lower Premiership jobs.

Wouldn't surprise me if he left or stayed. If the former sooner the better so we can get someone in quick.

I'm working near West Brom today, and the local rumour is that WBA don't have the funds to buy, or even compensate for Marti leaving...
The big rumour is, as has been stated elsewhere, is that Dunne is leaving and Furlong coming back to QPR...

The points deducted had no impact on our survival in 22/23

                  - Wigan we're deducted 3pts and without that would have finished on 42 pts

                  - Blackpool didnt have any points deducted and finished on 44 pts

                  - Reading were deducted 6pts and without that would have finished on 50 pts

                  - Cardiff didn't have points deducted and finished on 49 pts.

                  - We finished on 50 pts

Reading's points deduction meant Cardiff avoided relegation, not us. The team was in free fall after the latter stages of Beale's tenure and Critchley. Gareth was the third manager that season and scraped the points together that kept us up on merit.

I'm not saying he's the best manager, but he did see us over the line.

A good post you covered all bases there. Things have changed in football managers and players don’t stay for years on end they follow their bank balance and as for the clubs point of view if it’s not working then cheerio. What in reality are our expectations for next season with Marti. And our under performing team much of the same l fear. I’m sure we all hate coating the team but as I’ve said before we are QPR and l want us to be a force not a farce

Marti has been placed on gardening leave and won't be in charge against Sunderland. It's on the official club website.

I just hope we get some decent compensation.

Even if it's £500k it will help for next season and will probably cover his wages for this season.

Someone on here reminded me that we did the same thing with Holloway when he had discussions with Leicester.
