Can see where you are coming from Sheep but whilst longer contracts have their disadvantages for both sides one year contracts really would encourage a revolving door and a lot of applicants would want the security of a longer contract. One year contracts would also embolden other clubs to come after your manager.

Managers generally would want the security of a longer contract and clubs would want to know they would get some compensation if someone poached their manager. Of course if a manager flops and you want rid works other way! Other disadvantage is as here we have someone who has effectively been sacked but we can't just get rid so we are left in a bit of limbo particularly if club they have been talking to loses interest.

No right answer on this one. Looking at the manager turnaround at most clubs may well be academic as if they last more than five minutes they get a long service medal.

True, but if you're a manager who's confident in your ability why would you want to commit to a contract where your next move is restricted by release clauses/compo/transfer fees, or whatever you want to call it?

Get this guy in from France on a one year deal. If he does well and then moves to another club in England we shake hands and wish each other well.

Unfortunately we have got to realise that we are essentially a "development club" and managers/players will come and go as part of that. That's just the nature of the modern game and the nature of the clubs model.

This is why Nourry to an extent is right in wanting a constant approach across the club, so even if a manager or a player does leave, we already have someone in mind who can fit our approach already and therefore means we dont have to change playing styles for every manager, for me thats the right way to go about things.

I think the club needs to start giving managers one year contracts with an option for a rolling one year extension if both parties want to continue. It will end this compensation and gardening leave nonsense. It will therefore be in every manager's interest to keep the team performing until the end of the season. If I liked the squad of players and was confident in my managerial ability I'd be more than happy with this arrangement.

CR can then buy the players he and the recruitment team think are needed. And there are plently of out of work managers who know how to set a team up like premiership clubs do.

Loyalty in football is long gone , you will find the odd manager/ player willing to keep his promise but not many .
In my opinion if u sign up for 3 years u do yr best for every one of those days .
If u choose to speak to another club then u can't ask yr players or fans to believe in you.
I want him off anyway. Just because of the rubbish I've had to watch this season.
Games where he could of gone for it he made bizarre substitutions....

Saw him on telly last nigh in the stands with his family when Sandefjord , my favorite club in Norway and one of his former clubs, beat Vålerenga 2-1. Allegedly on the plane back to England later in the evening is what I heard from another SF supporter...

We don’t know the issues for sure. I feel Norrie has done an incredible job recovering from the nutty spending in the warburton era that didn’t get us up and left us in a mess. I feel the owners have got things sorted and established a clear direction. I don’t think coaches for qpr need to be developed internally as we are for players. The best coaches are usually in jobs and would cost us compensation and I’d rather spend it on players. Just listened to gallen on wls say this squad is worse than the one that got relegated to div 1. The football we watch is miles better with no overweight strikers waddling about. Players are trying hard every game to me.

I really do think the club have finally sorted behind the scenes, it may not be perfect but they seem to have set about with a model that has worked for other clubs (Brentford) and with these foundations they push on.

It's a real shame that this controversy is going to hamper summer training. Hopefully it causes as little disruption as possible. Marti may not have been the man to push us on but i do think another summer, pre-season and full season with him and what would be a developed squad would have been great to see.

Fingers crossed someone can be brought in to improve on what Marti, or the club was trying to do. Hopefully what Marti was trying to do was directed from the club and not against or inspite of their direction, meaning there should be some consistency.

I would accept a grovelling apology from Beale, because it happens and we all make mistakes and he's wiser for it. Time has passed there. But it's a "no" from me on Marti because it's the same group of players.
