Splashing the cash has rarely worked for us in the past! Generally speaking am liking how club have done business last year or two. We are in a pretty good place for early July.
I would much prefer to give brum the finger and beat them with a team that costs a fraction of the price

Apparently Newcastle are willing to let him go.
Not sure how big a fee they would want can't be that high surely
I wouldn't. Managed 90 minutes once last season for Portsmouth.

other clubs starting to spend big money

    Birmingham
    Derby
    Norwich

    all spending 5-10M on players

we desperately need Eze to be sold to be able to compete.

Bright Osayi Samuel to Brum on a free transfer, would imagine wages would be sky high.

Well he's a younger version of Colback who still hasn't left, or had the year option extended. If he leaves I'd be happy to have Hayden in the squad for his experience. But I cant see us paying a transfer fee for a 30yr old. If it's a nominal fee and sensible wages then it's an upgrade on Colback. Im not sure it will happen though as Im sure there'll be cheaper, younger options coming over from Julien's contacts soon enough. Ones with a potential resale option in the future.

Modern managers don't seem to value "driving forward" , they prefer pissfarting around playing suicide balls across the backline and gradually inching up the pitch. I get the feeling any player who broke ranks and tried to burst forward would get fined...

Beyond that, if there is a weakness anywhere on the pitch I thought the solution is always Harvey Vale?

Weds are bang in financial trouble by the look of it could be relegation material I’m sure we could find better than windass

We don't NEED Saito at all. He was a good solid loan player but we have plenty of diminutive tricky players now. If we do need a "lefty" I'd prefer a more speedy, direct and hefty one.

The new manager comes with the usual tag of "good at developing young players" - well maybe he can mould Kohli or Lloyd into bustling left-sided players who can get to the bye-line and/or cut in and attack the box?

we need Saito - otherwise everything is going to be Very right sided next season - Saito on the left is a must.

lets hope we don't lose him to another championship side.

also if last season is anything to go by both Saito and the Korean kid add a fair few extra fans each week.

I've seen a speculative "what if" article this morning suggesting Portsmouth should go for Saito as he is a free agent.

Whilst both decent players on their day, for me, end product not there. Tunnel vision when they get near area, blaze ball over bar.
Smyth probably played more game last season on Dembele being injured for quite a while he don’t let us down but I can’t see him starting many games this season with Dembele and poku around

Chair last season never got going back injury followed up by other ones Saito did well as replacement be interesting to see if Sutton pushes him this season

With new faces coming in and development squad producing players hopefully we won’t be so reliant on chair to be main creator
