Doubt anyone will buy Chair. Shoots from crazy positions, 44 shots, 2 goals last season.
Smyth had 44 shots with one goal.
Whilst both decent players on their day, for me, end product not there. Tunnel vision when they get near area, blaze ball over bar.

I'm very happy with Chair as a squad player, he's not the talisman he once, kind of, was. Effective in some situations but detrimental in others.
If nothing else, the years have shown, especially as our budget has shrunk, squad depth with some quality is more important than individuals, we need people fighting for every position.

Thanks. Their average attendances were about 4500 ish higher than us in a division lower I suppose but I can't see that alone explaining it but you also point out that they may be throwing an hail mary and rely on promotion to EPL. We will see I suppose.Originally posted by Mattyqpr View Post
Because their revenue has taken off since the takeover and is predicted to be north of £50m, which is double the majority of Championship clubs. Birmingham has the potential to go very wrong if they don't go up to the PL sharpish.

Are we all playing to the same rules or are they benefitting from their season in League 1 somehow?
Birmingham City's summer transfer business is getting more ambitious as they prepare for life back in the Championship
And they're apparantly also linked to £5.5 Million signing of Demarai Gray. Just how?
Similar to Wrexham, however Birmingham seem to be prepared to take hefty losses, whereas Wrexham are being cautious with their approach. Birmingham has the potential to go very wrong if they don't go up to the PL sharpish.

Chair is still very important to us and is a good player, but I genuinely can't see any team in the championship paying any where near £2.5m to buy him from us. There are plently of players out there in the UK and Europe who could do the same on free transfers or nominal fees.
If he's not needed and we'll want to sell, I hope Im wrong.

With the pace added in poku and a fit dembele chair has to release the ball quicker. Hopefully he can stay fit he regardless of others rating him he’s a good player

I don't think Chair is completely without transfer value but it has been much diminished after his legal problems and an injury plagued season last year. I would say £2.5m-£3m. If he can fit in with the new manager's way of playing is worth far more to us keeping him, particularly as he is on a new contract. No pressure to sell. Hopefully he can put the last year or so behind him. There is real competition now for the attacking midfield places so nobody is guaranteed a starting place and this is without further signings in that area.
In fact not sure it can be said anyone is guaranteed a starting place and that is with potentially a lot of business still to be done so we are in a pretty good place going into July. Nearest we have to guaranteed starters are Nardi, Dunne, Field and Varane.

There was an article recently that stated we banked on Chair being sold dor £5m once, but we didn't get a single bid.Originally posted by djp View PostWe have a lot of attacking options now with addition of Vale and Poku so is there space for Saito? As much as I have loved Chair overs the years and he has been loyal to us, would consider cashing in on him this summer and bringing Saito in as his replacement.
The fact that our budget is the 6th lowest in the league, yet Chair signed an extended contract with us, suggests there wasn't even big money on the table for him when he was about to become a free agent. He might have been one of our better players once, but others teams dont appear to rate him that highly.
Chair is a squad player now without any resale value, imo.

A couple of wrong moves for them and a midtable finish will be disaster. From our standpoint all looks positive. I was looking on the Lommel club site and Saito referenced nowhere. Fingers crossed we see some positive news quickly before other teams catch on.

I’m not the best on ffp Oslo best at it but if you drop to L1 does the 3yr cycle start when come up again ? They need a lot more than 1 for this league completely outplayed by probably the worst posh squad in a 15 years in cup final lack pace in lot of positionsOriginally posted by Sleeping Giants View PostNot QPR but how do Birmingham get to spend £10 Million (although not immediately) and still fit within FFP. Pboro replaced Burrows with lad Harley Mills scored a belter of free kick v brum in final he won mom 19 wand of a left foot on him he won’t be at posh much more than next seasonOriginally posted by Dono77 View PostMakes sense but not sure he's gonna be a that guy we need. Even on his best day he wasn't better than paal who I didn't rate. We need to find another harrison burrows type. Sheff u bought him from posh when we really should have got him the year before. There are lads out there in the lower leagues. Maybe the Brazilian lad is good enough but that's a lot of pressure on a young lad who has never played in a real match in this country before.
Watched the kids final Brazil kid is rapid is he ready for a big step up maybe, Larkeche did ok but Scotland hardly toughest of leagues
