I do agree. Shame we couldn’t get Edwards (even on loan) over the line. Someone like Smallbone who ended up at Millwall on loan would have been ideal as we lack a combative box to box midfielder in my view.

I know the plan is to develop our own talent and not that of other teams but I can't help but feel that we could have utilised the loan market a bit more than we did. Norrington-Davies is our only loanee as far as I can see.Leave a comment:

Not heard that one? There is some sort of dispensation for Chelsea and City I believe due to their loss of preseason caused by going to club WC. Gotta be honest, still fannying around with ins/outs in midseptember for a seaon that started 1st week in August would be ridiculous in the extreme. TAYLOR Richards has left QPR by mutual consent.
Richards initially joined the club on loan from Brighton & Hove Albion in the summer of 2022, completing a permanent transfer the following year.
He spent the 2024/25 campaign on loan at Cambridge United.
The 24-year-old made a total of 21 appearances in all competitions for the R’s.
CEO Christian Nourry said: “It has been a challenging period for Taylor during his time with us. He has had to deal with personal adversity while also looking to progress his career.
“A fresh start is the best option now for him. We wish Taylor well for the future and hope he can make the most of his undoubted talent.”

Isak Alemayehu has completed a permanent move to QPR from Djurgärdens for an undisclosed fee.
The 18-year-old midfielder made 16 appearances in all competitions for the Swedish outfit last season, 12 coming in the top flight and four in the UEFA Conference League.
He scored against Chelsea in the semi-final of the European competition in May and now he is excited to begin his adventure in English football with the R’s.
“This feels very good,” he said. “It's a big step in my career and I'm very happy to be here.
“When I was told QPR were interested I really wanted to come. I was aware of the club before and when I heard of the interest I dug a little bit deeper to learn more.
“I am very happy to be at a fantastic club, a big club in England. It's going to be fun!”
Alemayehu – who will initially link up with QPR’s Development Squad – began his football journey at the age of six with AIK.
When he was 12, he moved to Djurgärdens in Stockholm, progressing through the youth set up before making his first-team debut when he was still only 16. He then spent a six-month loan spell with Feyenoord’s U21s at the end of 2023/24.
Two months with FC Stockholm in the early stages of 2024/25 followed before he returned to his parent club, producing a number of impressive displays to showcase his potential.
Reflecting on his progress last season, Alemayehu said: “For me, I think I did well
“I have very high self-confidence and I always go out with the mentality that I'm there for a reason, and I know my abilities.”
Discussing his style of play, Alemayehu – who has already been called-up by Sweden at U21 level – said: “I would say my technical abilities are a big strength of mine.
“I also have a mentality that I always want to work hard for the team.”
Despite his young age, Alemayehu has no concerns about adapting to life in a new country.
“Feyenoord played a big part in my development, not only as a football player but also as a human being,” he explained.
“I feel more ready because I lived alone in the Netherlands so I feel like I've already gone through this.
“Now I want to develop as much as possible and give 100% in every training session.”
QPR CEO Christian Nourry said: “Isak is a player identified by our recruitment department as having great potential as a ball-playing #6, with good close control and strong defensive anticipation.
