I have never been much of a fan of Dunne at RB. I feel he only ended up there cos we had nobody else.
Dunne brings a lot to the team with his physical presence in the areas and weighs in with goals too. BUT... he can do this from any position - he doesn't need to play as a RB to do it.
Looking at him purely as a RB he's too slow and ungainly. I'd rather see someone smaller, nippier and more agile at RB.
So, I reckon we DO need a specialist RB slash WB.

Completely agree must be a left back on the radar. They wouldn't go into the season without options so I'm expecting a left back and maybe a couple of last min loans.Originally posted by Dono77 View Post
We need a left back not a right one. Dunne and Adamson with mbengue as cover should be okay.
our left back situation is more concerning. 1 week til season starts and it looks like Larkeche is our no 1. Not sure hes an upgrade on paal..if anything hes worse.

He could play Dunne CB and rotate Christie with Adamson.......but his age isn't what Nourry is after unless he's cheap?Originally posted by Dono77 View Post

I think that was poo-poo-ed in some quarters last week? But, until its official..........Originally posted by Sleeping Giants View Post
Does this mean that we are no longer looking at Tomothe Nkada?
Perhaps we're after both if Lloyd goes out on loan, Celar moves back to Europe and Koli reverts to a No 10.....?????
In Noury's recent interview he clearly said our mid-table ranking on injuries was in part due to a lack of player rotation. Perhaps we're trying to get better squad depth.
Burrel might be a slow burn until he adjusts to the xhampionship, and might be more for 26/27 when Frey's contract will be up and he leaves??Last edited by SheepRanger; 29-07-2025, 03:47 PM.

I would rate Poku over Saito.Originally posted by daveshads View PostGenerally intrigued by the comings and goings. Absolutely unsure if we have had a good window or a poor one.
We are a big minus (Edwards) and a slightly lesser minus Saito. And we still do not appear to have guaranteed aggression in midfield.
I fear that we may be going into the season with fingers crossed. I guess things may still happen but I am rather worried as it stands.

Best of luck to Kelman. Hopefully he can kick on and do well.
Great deal for us. Player in last year of contract and wanted to leave. One very good loan and we get reported £3.5m possibly going up to £5m. Also read somewhere 20% sell on. Replacement signed for around £1m. Exactly the kind of business we need to be doing.
Not convinced Kelman would have thrived here. Despite all the creative players on paper we have consistently struggled to create decent chances for strikers. Plus we play with one striker so he would have been competing with several others for one regular spot.

I can only think that after going out on loan thst the powers think Walsh is just as good and we could sell Nardi to bring in some money and reduce the wage bill......?Originally posted by Dono77 View Post
Why all of a sudden is Walsh no 1? Nardi was excellent last season especially up till Jan. Only dunnes run of form from jan to may meant he pipped Nardi for poty in my opinion. Best keeper we've had since smithies and now hes back up???
Ssomething not right here??!!
Walsh seems to be Nos 1 now, so Nardi has to go if there's any value in shipping him out?

Point taken....but from reading the interview, quickly during a gig last night, I think it mentioned his engine, high press etc. Im expecting him to win a lot of balls closing down and being a nuisance. Not a Duncan Ferguson type of bully. I havent done much research on im as I got in late and just off out on the lash to watch England Woman Final. I hope the lad scores 15 -20 goals, but my perception is his athletic powers will prove more important than his goals? Time will tell....Originally posted by WeAreQPR12 View Post
Battering ram??? He has the build of Steven Slade so is the 2nd pencil from the pack. He'll be definitely battered but no chance of being the Ram, he'll do well to brush through a blade of grass
