Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.Comment

Even though 9m is a lot of money to spend for a championship team we need rhodesy to secure our championship promotion, but i also understand the chairmans point of view he has spent a lot of money on horseshit so i don't think theres a lot available to spend.Comment

If I was Fernandes I would chuck £8mill at Blackburn right now.. With Rhodes and Austin, its promotion guaranteed.
His GOT TO DO ITComment

QPR wont get much for Granero because he will only have two years left on his contract, and his value will drop even more thanks to his cruciate ligament injury and he hardly covered himself in glory in his appearances for QPR. £3M max I reckon.Comment

rhodes isn't worth 8 or 9m. Great championship player but not guaranteed to cut it in the prem.
Deeney, mccormack or even Ings would be cheaper than rhodes and have as much chance to make it in the premSoldier: "im on reconnaissance sir.. im looking for our camouflage expert.. have you seen him?"
Lovejoy: "No?!"
Soldier: "GOD DAMNIT THAT GUYS GOOD!"

Not trying to bring back painful memories, but didn't we all feel that if we only could get Samba last year we would survive in the prem? We had pages and pages of posts here saying how wonderful and necessary for our survival he would be......
Yes Rhodes is a great goalscorer, but he could get injured, or lose form; stranger things have happened at QPR.
I'm happy to leave it in the hands of TF and HR.Comment

Although it won't guarantee promotion, it would certainly boost our chances. We'd recoup the £9m spent either by promotion or selling Remy anyway.Comment

Thank God this has finally been put to bed. We were never going to spend £9m while in the Championship on a Championship striker (more even than we paid for Remy, an established French international). There are probably half a dozen clubs who could turn round and say "if we got Rhodes we would go up". Luiz Saurez would probably give us a pretty good chance of promotion too but - sorry to break the news to you guys - it doesn't look as if we will be able to afford him any time soon either. As for Remy, he might well be out of the picture but we haven't got the money from selling him yet. Tony has already put a huge slice of his fortune into QPR. The way some fans talk about £9m offers you would think they were asking Tony to buy a bag of crisps.Comment

"Doesn't sound a lot". Funny how you don't allow even the slightest criticism of Harry but seem quite happy to implicitly criticise the chairman of a championship club for not spending £9m on one player - probably about what Burnley's entire team cost combined. Think I've heard it all now...Some of the stupid money we have spent, 8 or 9 million doesnt sound a lot for a prolific striker who with charlie, will be perfect for the prem and not need to spend again. We got the money back for samba and have got a massive draw coming for remy, please tony, just once more mate. Then harry will only need a couple of players when we go up.Comment

Comparing Deeney and Ings with Rhodes is laughable.
The way I see it is Rhodes is a free hit, like Samba and Remy last January. The lad is a goalscorer and will always have people willing to pay his price. Buying him for 8m is a free hit. Austin and Rhodes will win us promotion, simple as that. Going into a premiership season with Austin, Rhodes and Remy as three of our strikers will be massive.
If Rhodes didn't cut it in the premiership (I believe he will), the relegated teams vying for an instant return will be looking to Rhodes as their main option and will pay the fee we require.Comment

Very refreshing to hear we won't pay whatever it takes for a playerhttp://www.getwestlondon.co.uk/sport...ckburn-6535342
It's shame, but maybe that french kid can do the job,if he joinsComment

Ok long just went to hull for 7.5 mill. Who's the better investment Rhodes or him? At 23 and with rhodes stats over the last.few years I think 8 mill is a fair price in today's market for a uk player.
I also think Rhodes and Austin in the prem would be a great partnership and one that could certainly score goals against the so.called bottom half teams we will need to compete with.Comment
