Jan Transfer Window

Yes. The January window always has a whiff of "panic buying" about it - an opportunity to rectify previous errors in terms of planning/recruitment. Therefore you'd want any acquisitions to be up to speed and good to go. This new lad will definitely have faced Oxford level of opposition already this season and it shouldn't be too big a step-up for him IF he is a fundamentally competent pro footballer.Originally posted by DJ Hooper W12 View PostAgree Jeff but at this moment in time l think we probably could do with someone who could hit the ground running. But who knows let’s see if JS gives him a chance

"QPR are poised to sanction further outgoings ahead of the February 2 transfer deadline and Sam Field is being lined up as a likely departure from Loftus Road this month with a host of interested parties keeping tabs on his situation, Football League World has learned"
It wouldnt suprise me with his lack of game time, but it would leave us short if both he and Varane went, unless others came in.

Does feel like owners have one eye firmly fixed on next season and are OK with slightly compromising any faint hopes of top 6 this season.Originally posted by SheepRanger View Post"QPR are poised to sanction further outgoings ahead of the February 2 transfer deadline and Sam Field is being lined up as a likely departure from Loftus Road this month with a host of interested parties keeping tabs on his situation, Football League World has learned"

Yeah, seems that way. I seem to remember one season, perhaps a Warbs one, when we culled a lot of fringe players in Jan to almost save the budget for the following season.Originally posted by Abseits View Post

Field hasn't had much game time and if theres some interest, with a transfer fee, we have to take it. Varane's value seems to have peaked and it's time to cash in. Frey rumoured to be on the way out too.
Morgan can step up and Haydon is going well. And obviously Kollie, the new striker and a couple of the young Australian lads.
I think we're cashing out on players who have maxed their peak value and reducing budget on older fringe older players, and recruiting young again. It fits into the model, just a Jan thing in addition to a summer thing. There's also Ronnie's fee and wages to balance. All part of supporting a small club trying to be financially sensible.

Burrel was a first team player at Burton , this kid coul'dnt get in Lincoln's first eleven , will gladly give him a chance but won't hold my breath. Typical of us to sign players like this thoughOriginally posted by Jeffqpr View PostCan’t judge him on stats, let’s wait till we see him play & might take a while for him to settle in in the championship, he’s young like Burrell & could be good

Forget about the Aussie lads , my son now lives in OZ and he said the A league standard over there is like national league south over here and be honest it has shown when they've played for usOriginally posted by SheepRanger View Post

Rumors of Field being sold this window are worrying to me.
With RND only on loan and could be called back and Esquerdinha going off injured, isn't Field the only other player we've played at Left back?
Wonder if that sale has been cancelled now or if there is someone else we are looking to bring in because I don't know what the plan is for Left back for the rest of the season, it can't just be go with RND only?

The prob we have now is that we have spent all our budget on one player, Edwards which i agree was the best thing for a long term investment. The only thing now is that we have no money left to bring anyone else in that is half decent! Cook is playing well and Ronnie is sat on the bench. We look a bit silly all of a sudden. We badly need a proper number 9. Kone is a terrible target man. Cant hold on to the ball and looks to be struggling. Our issue now is we cant drop him!!
Bennie is league 2 standard. Offered nothing all night other than run around without knowing what he was supposed to be doing. We also need a left back urgently. If RND goes down we are left with field. Wtf is going on???

Field has to go. He's completely gone to pot. He's hopeless as an emergency left back but I hoped he'd do better coming on in his more familiar role last night. But no, he was awful still. He's a shadow of his former self but he needs a fresh start somewhere else to recover his mojo.

Mbengue def is not left footed. Only uses it to stand on!! God help us if Adamson has to play. He's not good enough for the Championship. We need to sign a proper left back. Not playing guys there who can give it a go for a game. Thats not a solution.Originally posted by 3London View Post
