I think that's pretty harsh on Julian sheps. We've got no consistency but you can't sack him because our league position is still very healthy. Sheps do you really believe spending it on O'Neill would push us into the top 6 rather than back the current manager to more importantly improve the playing squad?!I played sunday league football today.
Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.
I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.
We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

can only say what l see and l thought he started ok but recently been totally ineffective be glad to see him gone and get him off the payroll, for a bloke that size he l would expect more physicallity at least a yellow every other gameOriginally posted by Abseits View Post
I kinda feel sorry for him here. He mostly gets thrown on for last 15 minutes in games that have already gone to pot and are beyond saving - don't really think we're giving him any sort of stage or platform to shine on. Maybe the club retained him this season in case Burrell or Kone turned out to be duds but now those two have proven themselves we no longer require Michy as an insurance policy. He could move on to get more game-time somewhere else, we get his wages off the books and maybe a nominal fee too OR he just stays put til Summer, neither option would worry me much.

Zan Celar has played 314 minutes from 10 matches for the German club this season. His performances haven’t been convincing and he’s yet to score or contribute an assist. Bild say the 26-year-old has been a flop so far. Therefore, Fortuna Düsseldorf are looking to cut short his loan stay in the winter market. In order to do this, they approached the Championship side in recent weeks to find out the possibility of terminating his temporary stay. According to the report, Fortuna Düsseldorf received a ‘clear rejection’ from QPR because they ‘absolutely don’t want him back’ in January. QPR want the frontman to continue in Germany so that he can increase his valuation. That’s unlikely to happen as Fortuna Düsseldorf have other plans. Bild indicate Fortuna Düsseldorf will have to try and find a new club for Celar in this window. This won’t be easy since Celta has already played two matches for Julien Stéphan’s side this season before going out on loan. FIFA rules won’t let him to be registered with a third club in the same season, unless a club outside of the usual European calendar is found.
Championship trio Queens Park Rangers, Portsmouth, and Sheffield United are all interested in Dundee defender Luke Graham. CB.....22yrs in Feb.

I am in a small minority on this board in not adhering to the concept of an amateur data wallah constructing a team and then finding someone to coach it to success.
I yearn for the old days of when a' manager' took over and was trusted to shape his own squad within a defined budget. Worked well for years.
I have no personal animus towards any individual involved. CN or JS etc.

I know what you mean, but managers tend to buy older players without any sell on value, which means we'd breach PSR within three seasons. A manager would only have his short term agenda to consider and not the long term wellbeing of the club. The last thing we want is another version of Harry Redknapp who wont develop players and produce transfer fees.Originally posted by KLOS View PostOriginally posted by middlesexr View Post

Investing in players with putative sell on value is am aspiration not a guarantee.
A data bod is no more likely to get it right than a manager. The former have no more necessary longevity than a manger. The Board could have to endorse the purchase on investment
value. Jim Gregory used to do that successfully. Who was that Taylor fella who was such a good investment. Was he one of Les's? cant remember.
I would not like to be given the task of coaching to success someone's wish list.
I am sure that was the big issue with Marti and the data amateurs.
i have fessed up that I believe I am in a (vocal) minority here but I can live with it. This place is all about opinions among friends

No doubt at some point we'll try that approach again. We'll try anything and see what approach sticks. I think the Burrell signing will reap a few quid, as will Varane who will probably head back to Spain in the summer. Varane will probably flourish more in Spain just like Parejo even though he was rubbish for us.
Rinse and repeat........

Didn't we try for O'Neil before and he turned us down? I assume he wanted to work with a bigger budget? If my recollection is right, then I doubt anything has changed to make him more interested in us now. Overall, I think we're doing okay and doubt changing the manager would make any real difference.Originally posted by middlesexr View PostThis transfer window, why don't we use all our spare cash to go out and get GARY O'NEIL as manager, he has experience of this league and he would get this squad playing.

Strange one with Callum Wilson as I’d have thought his wages were way out of our league. But, he was on £6,000 a week at the Hammers.
Okay, so there were bonuses on goals, appearances and other trivialities. Those could net him closer to £40,000.
He could be a great signing - so long as he doesn’t play or score goals or any of that nonsense.

Only likely if we can offload another +30 Frey, hes prepared to be down the pecking order behind the younger and futurw sellable Burrell, Kone & Kolli and he'd come to us for £12k a week. Can't see it happening.Originally posted by WeAreQPR12 View PostCallum Wilson on a free would be a decent addition. Being let go from west ham
