Michael Frey has completed a permanent transfer to Grasshopper Zurich, joining for an undisclosed fee.
The move ends Frey’s two-year stay with QPR, following his arrival from Royal Antwerp.
The 31-year-old striker made 53 appearances for the R’s in all competitions in that time, scoring ten goals.
Grasshoppers compete in the top flight in Switzerland and are currently 11th in the table.
CEO Christian Nourry said: “I want to thank Michi for everything he brought to QPR - his tenacity, goals, fighting spirit and professionalism were all standout over his two years with us.
“As a man, I have rarely met anyone so utterly obsessed with his craft, in the best way. I also want to thank his wonderful partner Melis for all she brought to the club.
“Both Michi and Melis regularly made visits in the community without being prompted or asked, including providing gifts to local schools.
“Additionally, Melis made such an effort to bring all of our men’s first-team players’ wives/significant others together.
“Whilst both will be sorely missed, I am excited for Michi to go and be a pivotal part of the project of such a historic Swiss club like Grasshopper Zurich.
Yep, clearly a decent bloke on and off the pitch. Loved his fighting spirit, shame his legs have gone. He would have been a fantastic signing 10 years ago.
Wish him good luck in his new club.
Liked him. The years are taking their toll but I feel that we rarely provided him with type of service that he most needed.
Beet wishes to him. We have worse players…
He was definitely a good guy. It does seem our suits upstairs are good at finding players of good character, we don't seem to have bought any knobheads for quite a while now. Obviously footballing ability is what matters most but it helps team bonding/spirit if you have a sensible, mentally mature and decent group of players.
Also liked him, just not suited at all to our style of play this season which made his lack of pace untenable. Chuck him up front with runners around him and could still do a job. Best of luck to him.
Don't really know what went wrong with him , he always seemed to jump into the defender when challenging for headers ...wish him all the best with his new team
Nashville interested in taking Adamson on loan. Not surprised as he's miles out of his depth in the Championship. Not even non league level from the little I've seen. Another bizarre signing that went to sh1ite. Giving him the no2 shirt was a joke.
Can we pls sign a couple of proper full backs?? They are arguably the most important players in any team. Get 2 good ones and we are a good side. A crap ones leave you fighting it out at the bottom.
He’s hardly played & been mostly in the dev squad, christ give the boy a chance & let him develop & get used to the championship & that goes with a few of our players

Totally agree.
When you see the oppo counter with bodies and your full back doesn't track back leaving a great big hole that the rest of the defence have to stretch to cover, you just know where that ball is going to ultimately end up a few seconds later.
