Charlie Kelman plays for the United States national team because he is eligible to represent the US due to his father being an American citizen and because he spent part of his childhood living in Texas. He has represented the US at the under-18 and under-20 levels. While born in England, his connection to the US through his father and childhood years in Texas makes him eligible to play for the USMNT.
