Reading a German reporter's take on it, the suggestion was he has lost his pace and a bit of zing - we wouldn't (so it is claimed) be signing the player that lit up the Prem a few years back. You only have to look at Park (or to a lesser extent Niko) to see that some players peak young. Not writing him off and obviously little ol' QPR are not going to get a superstar at the top of his career, but have just grown wary of signing players past their best. If we are serious about staying up am not sure there is a way round the board spending five - and probably more like 10m - on a proper midfield player. If Adel is off the midfield is going to be pretty workmanlike if we are reduced to West Ham cast offs on free transfers because otherwise we just have Barton and two players coming back from ACL injuries. Hope I'm not being negative, just realistic.

fair enough fella and I understand what you mean by not having all the expectations on charlie alone. He did get 20 and missed more than a dozen games too, I can tremeber how much exactly.I'm certainly not writing him off and as far as I know don't think anyone else is? Just think its such a massive step up in standard that if a player gets 20 in the champ in a promotion winning team think you prob have to halve that in the prem for a relegation threatened team. I'm actually defending him because I don't want us to put all our eggs in that basket, then see the crowd turn on him because playing alone up front to arsenal, liverpool etc he isn't able to score. we relied on him far too heavily last season - don't think we will get away with it twice.
I just think he's very much in the lambert mold but we will wait and see.Comment

Ok, time to move on from this fella now. Been waiting over two weeks for this farker to make up his mind.
There are good alternatives out there.
Vaalr and lescalles
