I wouldn't blame Tony if he refuses to play that game but then I think we all have to be realistic and accept that relegation is v likely.

As for candidates, fantasy signing would be Lukaku (not realistic I know). Solomon Kalou maybe? The Swansea Spanish striker? Sigothson seems solid. Bit disappointed our much lauded scouts have not come up with more
My BS indicator is in the red on that. If you have a squad good enough to stay up this season why do you need to spend £40 million for them to be good enough to stay up next season?

Also, it is a zero sum game - for every £40 million out there is £40 million in somewhere else. So somebody is staying up without incurring a £40 million deficit!

no disrespect to Soton, but they have lost hell of a team this summer, bit of a risk joining them
I must away now, I can no longer tarry
This morning's tempest I have to cross
I must be guided without a stumble

Is he available? Makes just as much sense as some of the contenders being put forward.

Personally think he was waiting on Liverpool. With them out of the picture, would hope that we'll see him sign this week.

Think you only have to look at our time in the Prem. We must have lost those kind of sums each season when you consider wages. Lots of players bought from abroad, lots going on signing on fees etc, all on players with no sell on value. Agree you would hope to move to a stage where you balance the books but realistically we are a long way off.

I really think we should pull the plug on this deal, he obviously doesn't want to come and we're not his preference , so all the B######S about having players who want to play for us is s##t . He obviously feels there's better out there for him ? By keeping his options open if he wanted to play for the Rs and Harry had influence over him he would've signed by we need to sat ok you obviously don't think we're right and move on by targeting someone else,

Am i the only one who thinks charlie is good enough to make the step up, I dont think we need abig name striker, the lad scores goals just needs more chances created for him. Add someone like deeney, maybe a older but proven prem striker too and we got a good front line. Dont forget we are trying to stay up not win the league. We need a team competitive with the bottom 12 teams.
DO people think charlie or a deeney are not capable of scoring against the likes of palace, burnley, leicester, west brom, villa, sunderland, newcastle?
One of the best strikers we have had at the club and too many already writing him of, bit of a joke.
I hope we dont lose our identity this time and players like charlie are given a fair shot as they deserve it and are more than capable of holding their own.

I dont think anyone has written him off....???? However, no matter how good a player is in the Championship you also cant be naive to just assume they will score in the prem also.

Personaly i think he will do well.
