When we have been paying wages for SWP, Park, Young, Johnson etc last season for doing f*ck all, at least we would have a good defender to strengthen us at the back.

Rio may be getting on a bit, but if he helps us stay up then its money well spent.
Nobody wanted Nelsen when we signed him, and we ended up missing him when he left.

I really hope he signs, as he will improve us.

- 75% pay cut to take 50,000 a week salary. Should be lower really but still

I love the way so many fans know the inner workings of our finances and what is deemed an acceptable wage for any player, whilst factoring initial outlay, marketing potential, potential sell on etc etc etc. However, bear in mind, silly wages have been paid for years in general and by us in recent times, and now the Prem revenue has pretty much doubled since we were last there so wages will only go up further.

Let's just leave the numbers to the powers that be, who are actually fnancing the deals. They've been bitten in the past and are far more wary this time around, so with that being said, if they think a deal works for the club then so be it. That should be good enough for the fans.
