Thought Callum Wilson getting rather a raw deal at WHU. Good eye for a goal. Guess it’s complicated though.

yeah I put earlier on local rumours posh get a % of sell on may of been why Southampton may of wanted more but will recover his fee to pboro

Pretty much all agree he's what we miss, as a cb he can carry the ball out from the back to create space and decent passer

Bloody hell, I never thought it possible for us to get Ronnie - will be crossing me fingers, toes and remaining 4 strands of hair until we get deal over the line!

Hope this goes through. Really thought he would be one of the players Southampton could build their team around but just not happened. Looked fantastic prospect for us. No idea how we are funding it but well done to the club if this comes off.

Amazing if we can get this over the line. Like all QPR fans I was astounded by the class and composure he bought to the back line when he was here on loan. Making it a permanent I always thought would be a challenge due to just how good he is. If he plays how we know he can, we will have a future England CB on the books.

There will surely be bigger boys with more funds willing to pay for his quality so must hope his heart is set on us. He always appeared very happy here

Must be a lot of bonus related payments in that £4.5m. I can't see us being able to afford more than £2m up front?????

Definitely using up that eze 15m which is good shows real ambition
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

Gotta feeling Ronnie’s family are Rs fans never had his head turned when at pboro just got in with defending ultimately posh cashed in and sold all back 4 he’s one of proper pros just wants to play and his mate poku here too

being realistic jcs can’t stay fit sadly cookie can’t sustain what he’s doing and Morrison another injury prone

hopefully get him in for hammers game as a freebie 50-60 mins

like many on here how he ain’t playing for soton regular our gain hopefully

Nobody pays up front anymore - they always quote the "total cost of ownership" figure but never reveal the repayment plan. It's conceivable we are putting down less than a £million up front. It's still a sizeable investment given our budget and feels like a bit of a steal frankly.

                                Yeah.
I thought total fee without achievement bonuses may be £2.5m over his likely 3.5yr contract? Perhaps staged payments of £500k now and £666k for each of the remaining three years?

Big bonus to Southampton if we win the FA Cup this year!!
