13 wins all season with 7 coming between Nov 27th and Jan 21st. Who did we beat in that burst of form....

Home wins against: Norwich, Watford, Luton, PNE and Oxford
Away wins against: Cardiff, Plymouth and Hull

Norwich and Watford are both in bottom half of table, the rest are down or threatened by relegation. With hindsight, our run of form was mostly due to the way the fixtures fell - we played the division's duffers basically. Yeah it's good we beat them, that's what saved our bacon from the drop.

Since that spurt fizzled out at end of January we've won just four further games.... PNE, Derby and Oxford (relegation strugglers) and Blackburn. Rovers, currently 8th, are the ONLY team in the top half of the table we have beaten this season. I think that is a shocking stat. It's a hard one to go back and verify but I suspect that there is no other former manager of a full season here who hasn't done better against the top half of the table.

The best you can say about Marti is he won the mini-league of plodders and duffers and kept us up. You're welcome to your opinion if you think that makes him an excellent manager but I don't... the thought of 46 more dull Martiball games to finish 17th again makes me very depressed. He's a one-dimensional egotist who was always using us as a toe-hold to get into the country with the highest paying league in football. We've now served our purpose and he wants out. Now, I don't mind a bit of ambition and of course we will see our employees move onwards to better things. BUT the deal is you put a shift in here first. He's leaving us no better off than when he arrived, any bullshine "project" he had in mind long went out the window, it's like we've pissedaway 18 months on him.

The most damning bit is that he signed an extension barely 6 months ago when he knew this season was kaput due to his massive winless run, he knew the backroom structure, he knew the finances, he knew the hierarchy, he knew the players and he knew the kids. For him to be now moaning and whining about "the set-up" is laughable in the extreme... I'd chuck the chancer out of the club tonight if I had my way.

Anyway, is all moot.... I don't want him and he don't want us, he can get lost and we're both happy.

Good post . I can't believe a lot of our fans think he's Pep Guardiola. Yes last season he kept us up after the terrible performances of AINSWORTH'S team but we have been terrible this season bar about 5 games and i think next season would be more of the same if we kept him , same old boring football every game until we inevitably concede the first goal then start playing . Get rid of him , if we get compo then blinding

Good teams can play badly and get points. Marti has been hindered with Frey's injuries, Celar not settling and injury and blooding Kolli & Lloyd & Yang up front. Had we had more luck with Frey & Celar, I'm sure we'd be sitting with 60-65 points.

All teams play the way we do.... I've recently seen West Ham, AZ Alkmaar and Ajax. They can play you into a trance where you nearly fall asleep!!

I posted a few weeks back that managers play the way top teams do so they get a chance to progress to bigger clubs. I doubt he'd be getting an opportunity at WBA with a longer ball game and two up front.

If Marti leaves, the world will keep spinning, and so will QPR. One thing is for sure, his replacement will set up exactly the same way!!

Clearly most of West London hasn't been bored by Marti style of football, as we've been close to sold out so many times, and same away.

Best manager we've had for years; 4th lowest wage bill, overcoming previous #### shows of management, blooded some good kids and we've lowered the debt considerably.

A good season all around, and I will be totally GUTTED if he leaves.

A good season all round ????l don’t know how many games you went to but there were more bad than good performances and the bad ones were shocking, awful tactics poor team selection poor substitutions and certainly no idea of how to change a game when need be. Marti has clearly had his head turned by WBA. Personally I hope he chooses to stay with us and helps with the rebuild of squad that we are going to desperately need for next season.

I suspect though that he may prefer to move on at the end of this season. He would likely view this a clean break, leaving with his reputation reasonably intact. If it does pan out that way I can only hope we would be due a significant compensation payment in these circumstances from WBA for the disruption caused to our club yet again.

FFP is stopping the owners putting more in, that and the fact our stadium plans seem to be scuppered at every angle. We have been in the Prem, we are a London club. We can say those 2 things mean nothing, but they certainly count for something in mine and many others view. Does our financial handicap hold us back, absolutely but but to say we don't have the potential is beyond pessimistic.

The steps required are leaps, and currently we can't seem to make them. But we could if the right decisions ae made, the right people are at the club and the performances on the pitch pay off.

Looking at everything folks have said, and the fact it's on Sky, it does seem Marti is on the way out, why would he stay? Romance? The fact we gave him the shot in Enlgand and he's only done 1.25 seasons? The fact he hasn't had a shot with 'his players' if this is truly the case?

I'd say none of the above matter if he can't work with CN and doesn't have back this summer, or he' being promised a whole lot more at WBA.

Everyone knows we could do with a new stadium but if the council won't help regardless of community blurb we have to do what's right for the club if that's another borough so be it ill still turn up

We absolutely don't have that potential.
We are 18-20th budget in the championship. We aren't mid table premiership potential at all.

As for Marti, if he leaves he leaves and we shouldn't blame him for that.

Under the previous regime he would have been sacked during the abysmal run that we went through this season like GA was.

And this coming season it's likely to be worse as we are in a rebuild phase that will be extremely dangerous and likely that with our limited resources we will be in another relegation scrap next season if we don't get it perfect.

So for him, why bother sticking around?
Well we didn't fire him, it's unlikely even if we end up in L1 next season we won't fire him either as Nourry has shown that stability is important to us and you will be given time to turn it around.

Why would he leave?
Nourrys hiring haven't been perfect and he will probably have more say in the signings at West Brom.

So he's at a crossroads and needs to decide. Stability and struggle or potential and potentially damage his reputation (not unlike Beale). Managers have to be confident enough to take that risk so it's likely he will go.

The good news is that it's likely another up and coming manager will see us as a good place to be with that stability to test their teeth being given by leadership and two managers moving on recently to better opportunities. So I think we will be fine, as long as the rebuild goes well this summer.

We had the same end of last season Sunderland bound etc still here. I have same option of everyone past and present over the years some have had to leave as we needed the money but if they believe the grass is greener elsewhere of you go if a player doesn't put in 100% and we've got a few at the club imo off you go same for the manager.

Stay and create history and walk out to Andy Sinton in the forever Rs club or jog on

Like most of us, I've seem so managers come and go and Marti will be no different. Someone new will come in and we start again.

This is a good point, but if Marti is allowed to do his job he has the opportunity to really up his trajectory by making us into a viable and competitive club again.

West Brom while a bigger club no doubt, is not a turn around gig. It's a gig where he has a team that should be competing for play off spots and should really be lower to mid prem, he'd be meeting expectations.

We've got that potential for sure but cannot find the right mix to realise it. We'd be a full blown turn around.

Still, money talks, and if you don't get on with the right people, football is ruthless.
