I'm saying we already have two old CB so what's the point of another we will only have to replace them in a years time

Why don't we sign 2 young CB who could be in the team for years

But were still looking for a young centre back.. just cos we sign Rio doesn't mean we aren't looking for a young centre back!

Have you actually seen him play in the last 3 years ? I think you are getting excited because he is a big name and won trophy's at United and you're remembering when he was good

We have a thread of every player we look to sign and at best most of us will have seen the player once if they have played in the Bush that season or will base judgement on what they see on Sky or MOTD. If your now suggesting we need to see the players in the flesh to form an opinion this will turn into one hell of a quiet message board as non of us will have the right to voice an opinion

The Forest CB is an example I cannot recall him playing against us at all last season but many think he the next big thing but I question what that view is based on yes he is young, yes if you believe the hype he is talented but how many of us have seen him play enough to form that opinion????? the view he is great is based in my view on a few saying hes a talented and we jump on board and agree were sheep........

His drugs ban was for failing to produce a sample rather than because he tested positive. I am not going to set out the entire process professional sports men and women go through in terms of being available for this type of testing but rest assured he will have given dozens and dozens of post match samples and I don't recall there being any issues arising from them.
The random process he failed to meet requires them to be available to give samples at the most random of times and the way I recall it he missed the appointment - big deal. I personally have missed hospital, opticians, doctors and dentist appointments over the years for one reason or another but it doesn't make me a bad person.
Funny thing is, the ones wrongly pinning his guilt as a drug addict on this are pretty much the same ones who suggest he is way over the hill and shouldn't be signed.
It's easy to see things in a particular way if it fits your stance but, personally, I see the act of saying he is a drug cheat because of the circumstances of this matter as a rather banal one and somewhat insulting in our system of innocent until proven guilty.
Accepted, he was guilty - but of missing a test, not of being under the influence. Oh, and as that is his "crime", it does nothing to enhance the argument of those using it to batter him

Na mate not once, must be thinking of anton.....Come on fella get a grip, most of us over the last 3 years have seen him enough on tv as utd are on at least once a week and yes he definitely isnt the player he was 6 years ago but if he was he wouldnt be coming QPR. But f me he's still a hell of a player and better than most cb in the prem. So what he's lost pace you saying he's lost all his footballing mentallity and knowledge. Rangersw12 and Richard please answer what are your views on Dunne and Nelson both who were over 30s joining us and being more or less ever present since they signed after playing next to no football the season before they joined us??

Also if offered Jack Wilshire, Rodwell or Theo Walcott on a free transfer and 60k a week wages would you sign them??

Your be on his every mistake at hq as well if you even go games lol. Notice you aint put the same effort in the caulker threads who is young and for the future. Both done well for us but both clearly struggled with fitness after being flogged by various managers which affected their performances Nelson for example could barely run at time which is why we had to play so deep.

As for Wiltshire etc all of them have resale value so yes I would sign them

That's probably because he is young , with resale value and is a decent investment in other words the complete opposite of Ferdinand

I would feel the same if we were looking to sign any player who was old , past their best and on high wages
