And being pretty clued about all things united doesn't apply here now mate. This deal has nothing to do with his team.

I know what you mean but this guy is in with them, goes to all home/away and got his ticket today for the LA Galaxy game next month. Let's hope he's wrong.

You're right, why would Rio discuss this with anyone back there?

The deal is not done yet as SSN is reporting, hope it's no more than 50k max.

Rich, I do think he'll be good for our club, it's just the wages that bother me.
But surely such a player is worth 80 bags a week? Remember, he WAS world class, he HAS-BEEN a winner of lots of silverware, and his fitness is top drawer.

Isn't 80k a week cheap for such a talent at the peak of his career?
Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.

Wouldn't believe all you read on SSN the deal has been agreed for some time see my post on this thread from several days ago, so barring a massive change of heart and circumstances he is our player and will be a real asset.

As to the other comments re Maguire clearly can't have seen him play, slow and poor positionally and will never ever be a prem player and certainly no interest from us.

He's in with the ITK over there, don't get much wrong. Told me about Park even before there was talk about.

                Have to trust Harry.

                  Hehehe correct.

But really, I'm expecting this fella to turn up with a cape and a big S on the back the way some people are going on about him.

Either that or it's the second coming

                    That's really funny.

S on the back and R on the front.

But being clued up about United don't have anything to do with this deal as he is a free agent and we don't need to consult with United just Rio so unless this dude is in Rios contacts and he texts to say just spoken QPR they have offered me X amount its rubbish

Also we had poster yesterday say the deal is not huge and based on bonuses. More inclined to believe a Rangers poster then an outsider

                        Ah, the old ITK shtick.

Guess that makes it true then.

I agree... I don't think we'd pay 80k, and Tony said we've learnt from past mistakes.

I expect any deal to be based around a basic wage which would be topped up through appearance fee's etc

Well if your mate is right, it's Rio on 80 big ones every week for at least a year. It's over 4m a season.

If he's as good as sparky and bunny are telling us, it's an absolute steal for such a champion at the height of his career who is superfit and a great TV pundit to boot

.....I've got to admit mate I'm with you on this one. The reality is it doesn't matter what he's won and achieved in his career its all about what he can do on the pitch now..... Im one of the biggest happy clappers on here but I'm just not convinced about this one.... it'll be fascinating to how much football knowledge costs though
