Originally posted by Nick View PostSorry for my naivety here, but if TF has publicly said Remy has no buy out clause then am I right in thinking no matter what Remy wants (to join a champions league team) he has no say? Meaning if we wanted to we could simply not sell him and have him and Austin playing up front next season?

We also don't know what, if anything is happening in terms of bids received, how much Remy has talked with other clubs. All paper talk on those so far.
As with all these things it's fun to discuss the likely scenarios though.
As I've said, I'd be surprised if we got him without significant incentives, beyond wages and London
I also wouldn't be surprised if there is no clause but we still get shafted over the sale price. We are QPR after all, and I don't think we've come out of a transfer in significant profit since Les.

This suggests that the buy clause expired at the end of the season.

His agent held all the cards in any negotiation that's for sure, and we shouldn't be surprised that any clause was not to our benefit.
If he still has a buy out clause, and I'm convinced he does, then I think that was some very weak negotiating by the club.'Only a Ranger!' cried Gandalf. We were desperate for a striker with real quality. Not an easy thing to find at a reasonable price in the January window.

It was clear Remy held all the cards, HR described us as a stepping stone for him.
One thing though is the fact we are back in the big time, TF will be a lot harder and have learnt lessons, get rid of Remy and reduce wages and bring in players more like CA, got the right mentality and probably half the wage.
Need to stop being a joke of a galactico type club and start being QPR, I saw signs last Saturday that that might not be far off.

don't think it's an ongoing thing
if he doesn't want to play for us, then I don't want him, let's dig our heels in and get the right price for him £16-£20 million
