Cant argue with that. The confusion seems to lie here:

It might just be if you can agree terms, we'll sort out the fee later?

Sorry for my naivety here, but if TF has publicly said Remy has no buy out clause then am I right in thinking no matter what Remy wants (to join a champions league team) he has no say? Meaning if we wanted to we could simply not sell him and have him and Austin playing up front next season?

But you forget Tony's a nice guy, he will grant the wish.

....And a businessman, so hopefully he'll only settle for a decent offer or IMO not sell him and have the best striker partnership in the premiership.

And Harry has said he has, no one of us has any real clue.

We also don't know what, if anything is happening in terms of bids received, how much Remy has talked with other clubs. All paper talk on those so far.

As with all these things it's fun to discuss the likely scenarios though.

As I've said, I'd be surprised if we got him without significant incentives, beyond wages and London

I also wouldn't be surprised if there is no clause but we still get shafted over the sale price. We are QPR after all, and I don't think we've come out of a transfer in significant profit since Les.

Do you remember when Tony said this?

This suggests that the buy clause expired at the end of the season.

I keep seeing this argument and I don't buy it. Didn't we give him a big pay rise? Otherwise why would he have come to us? So we definitely held that card and it was an important one. We could have just walked away if he didn't agree to terms that were fair to us.

If he still has a buy out clause, and I'm convinced he does, then I think that was some very weak negotiating by the club.

How is us offering him high wages a card that we held?

We were desperate for a striker with real quality. Not an easy thing to find at a reasonable price in the January window.

Yes he held all the cards, it was desperation from us. It was the same window that saw Samba bought for £12.5m & sold back as soon as we went down for £12m, never seen that before.
It was clear Remy held all the cards, HR described us as a stepping stone for him.
One thing though is the fact we are back in the big time, TF will be a lot harder and have learnt lessons, get rid of Remy and reduce wages and bring in players more like CA, got the right mentality and probably half the wage.
Need to stop being a joke of a galactico type club and start being QPR, I saw signs last Saturday that that might not be far off.

If Arsenal sign Griezmann and Benzema, what is Remy going to do?

I thought the buy out clause was last season, if we went down

don't think it's an ongoing thing

if he doesn't want to play for us, then I don't want him, let's dig our heels in and get the right price for him £16-£20 million

Or £10m plus a couple of fringe players. Would love to see Rosicky in the Hoops... sorry part hoops part white patch.
