Malky is a good manager who will get you the results to get out of the championship with a hard working team that works well for eaach other. Expect him to sign the likes of Don Cowie etc you might even see Tommy Smith back
BUT after the money he wasted on Andreas Cornelius, id consider having someone (like Harry or Warnock) more experienced when it comes to the signing of players. Even as a director of football role. (Is that Spurs guy available Damien Commoli)

As you know im a Cardiff supporter, so personally i think Malky would be just a short term requirement for you. Long term i think someone like Roberto Di Matteo would be good for you

Eddie Howe. Young. Plays good football. Found Austin and Ings. We would be a step up. No brainer. The big name managers don't suit us, Hughes and now Redknapp have proved this. The day we're not linked with players like Crouch and Kenwyne Jones will be a happy day for me.

See for me this is the exact wrong attitude.

Signing players who had been there done that at the highest level has completely failed for us. So why do we think this same approach is the way to go at managerial level?

Surely we want a manager on the rise, someone who sees us as the pinnacle of his career (thus far). Someone for whom whether we get promoted, or whether we finish 18th, 17th, or 8th in the PL, really, massively matters.

I don't think the experience stuff matters too much. Didn't seem to hurt Lambert or Rogers, or even Adkins. I'd much rather someone with experience of contemporary high level training, match preparation, tactics etc than some dinosaur who's been around for years but stopped learning a decade ago (hi Harry)/

Precisely this approach has worked for City. We tried the big-name route (Sven-Goran Eriksson - big enough for anyone) and the players with top-level experience, and none of it worked. We got, lost, and got back Nigel Pearson and his team. Took him a while to clear out the crap like Danns, Johnson, Beckford etc and bring in his own people and his own training methods. It's no accident that we are (a) top of the league and (b) have very few training-ground injuries. For me, QPR will need someone of that quality, though it won't be easy to find them.

I think Redknapp has a year left on his contract, but unless he goes of his own accord I can't see Fernandes firing him. Maybe he'll do the decent thing if you don't win the playoffs?
