I'm beginning to think, very sadly, Adel might be part of our problem, not the solution. It really pains me to say that as I value him as a player and have loved having him here. Every attack we have, however, tends to go exclusively through him, especially when he plays in the middle and drops deep. Other teams know this. They mark him or they close off his options up front. He always carries the ball and never releases it if he has some space (if he hasn't he tries to make space). This slows us up everytime because it enables the other team to rally behind the ball. This means we never break at speed, never make effective use of the flanks, and spend whatever time we have on the ball trying to keep possession and probing for space which we never find...
At last someone who actually sees the problem I have been stating for several months. He is most definently the problem not the solution. To be honest the fans have a lot to answer for cheering his every pointless step over only provides more delusion for him and pressure on the manager.
If he isnt interested in playing Championship football next seasson (if as is likely QPR get relegated), he may as well be sold as long as a good fee is offered, as this will give Redknapp some funds to buy players in January.
However, if money will be available anyway, then if good players are signed, in attack and defence, then Taarabt might just start to perform well again knowing that the defence will not be shipping in goals, and forwards will make runs and score goals.
The problem with yesterday's game was largely down to no real attacking threat and the fact that Hill (and the other defenders) could not cope with Suarez. Not to mention that the 2 man midfield could hardly get the ball off Liverpool's 3 man midfield.
Redknapp seemed to have SWP and Mackie as midfielders and for all their endeavours they are not midfielders nor even good ball players.
Goodness, an 'anti' Adel post with a decent argument behind it!
I agree to an extent, but I think the problem here is that our wingers offer minimal attacking threat, Cisse couldn't be arsed, and Diakite and Mbia rarely made good runs beyond Adel. It's hard to 'break with speed' when Mackie is the only player on the team willing to break into a sprint to get ahead of the defenders. I can think of several instances where we turned over possession, played it to Adel, and suddenly it was 6 pool defenders vs Cisse and Mackie who were busy marking defenders.
There's a reason 'all our attacks keep going through Adel' - because he always offers himself up for a pass. Watch him constantly floating around looking for space between the CMs and Cisse, and ask yourself why Mackie and SWP are rarely in these sort of positions. Adel's movement is particularly noticeable when Granero or Faurlin are playing behind him. Diakite, Mbia and Derry simply aren't as good at getting the ball to him, hence Adel dropping deeper.
I agree with this. Mine wasn't an anti Adel post, mind, but a criticism of the way we use him and the rubbish team he plays in. I suspect, however, if Adel were to release the ball earlier and more often- especially when on the break- we'd be more likely to get the movement from better players you rightly say is woefully absent.
What a bizarre thread. Adel was excellent yesterday, once again. He was constantly playing clever balls forward, or getting past the first man to get Liverpool on the back foot. Don't blame him for the lack of movement around and in front of him.
You are either seriously deluded, or simply watched another match to everyone else.
His use of the ball and decision making EVERY time he had it was poor and he constatly lost posession by trying stupid tricks when not needed as a pass / break was on. Liability when playing like this.

Have you ever known a player who has devided our suport as much as Adel? some think he can do no wrong others have a real perspective on him Talented? YES, inconsistant? YES, scores wonder goals? YES, loses & gives the ball away needlessly YES, should we sell him personally I think if someone makes Harry a decent offer he will sell?

Dave, Trouble is no one will make an offer, its only amongst some QPR fans that he is seen as this tremdous talent, probably because they are so keen to see someone as a saviour.
Said many it many times we will see and wonder where the Tarrabt lovers will have to say when he is playing in the lower reaches of the French league.

Love the amount of people on here that can tell the future
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.
Sell him and replace with someone less exciting to watch but more consistent and effective....if anyone wants him that is. He is our version of Lee Trundle.
