Tarbs is "average" - he can't make it into a top 10 PL side!
Yep, that's what some fellow "fans" are saying!
I mean, ignore what Harry said about Tarbs, that he never wanted to sell him, that is a fantastic player. We should only care about Harry's opinion when it suits us, we should only say Harry is a professional and we're not and so Harry knows best when it suits us, when it doesn't, let's forget that Harry is a pro and let's pretend we know better
BTW, I have created this thread because a few years from now when Tarbs has sadly left us and moved onto a bigger club and has proved himself there, I will reopen this thread just to have a laugh at how stupid those saying Tarbs is not good enough to make it into a top 10 PL side look.

Because that article and stats are about one game. And you cannot judge someone on one game.Originally posted by Stanley76 View PostAnd why dont you actually try reading the article and attempt to counter the detailed arguments and stats it highlights?
So let's get back to answering my question, shall we? is Routledge better than Tarbs?

Tarbs is obviously a more naturally gifted and skilful player but IMO Routledge is a more consistent player than Tarbs. He makes far less 'unforced' errors and concedes possession less.Originally posted by Marshy View PostBecause that article and stats are about one game. And you cannot judge someone on one game.

No, he could simply have said we sold him because we already had a good midfield - that would have sufficed, and there would have been no shame in that. But Harry clearly wanted to keep him, and even went as far as saying he always felt selling Tarbs would come back to haunt him.Originally posted by Michael229 View PostOf course Redknapp said that, he was hardly going to say 'yep, didn't rate him at all at Spurs so got rid'!

Hardly set the Championship alight, did he? In fact, he's hardly ever set the PL alight either, has he?Originally posted by Stanley76 View PostTarbs is obviously a more naturally gifted and skilful player but IMO Routledge is a more consistent player than Tarbs. Sorry I haven't been following this whole debate but why are we now bringing Routledge into all this? He seems to be doing ok for the jacks right now. In the words of Dirty Harry "A man should always know his limitations" a lesson Routledge seems to have learnt better than Tarbs on current evidence.Originally posted by Marshy View PostHardly set the Championship alight, did he?
