Exciting skillful greedy egomaniac with a poor attitude playing for a team bottom of the prem. Great Championship player/ Average Prem player , a legend in his own mind.

Matty, name the games in the last 16 months he has lived up to all the "we know what he can do" hype, I'm struggling after Fulham this season. In the Championship its a different story but one thing is crystal clear, we could not do any worse without him.

As I said previously, without meaning to sound sarcastic, I don't keep a list of games with details of how Adel plays, but I am pretty sure if you trawled through the old MOTM polls on here Adel will be in top 2 or 3 most games this season.

You say we couldnt do anyworse without him - straight away we would be winless without him as we wouldn't have beaten Foolham - thus putting us in a far worse position straight away.

Agree to disagree because tbh the whole Adel debate is boring me to tears on here these days its had every single day.
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

right so Paul we have a bunch of wasters that have been useless, and on paper Nelson has been our stand out player wk in wk out, adel had put in some good and some bad performances, but why don't you target players that are shi te every wk? We all know you don't like flair players and that's fine. I think on form derry should start in our midfield, but it's players like Cisse, diakite and m'bia that have not lived up to expectations
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

The whole team sucks apart from Nelson, but no other player is talked about as being the best player in the world, when they are not and like they can walk on water when they cant.

No one has said Tarbs is the best player in the world, and no one has said his game is perfect. Even those who are fans of his, like me, acknowledge he is far from the finished article.

At the same time, he is the most gifted and skillful player we have had for a decade, is fun to watch, and is the only player we have who has the potential to go to a top club and be a success.

Agreed. Every game we lose and Tarbs doesn't do something spectacular, a thread is started on how he is rubbish and how he is a hindrance to the team etc.

I think in future I won't respond to such threads.

[QUOTE=Marshy;996274]So who exactly will you bring in as

Hoilett, Granero, Ephraim, Faurlin, DJ, Bothroyd, Traore; pretty much anyone. HR can play a system which does not involve a freelancer quite easily. No reason we couldn't go with 3 centrebacks, 2 wingbacks, 3 midfield and 2 up top; so: GK, Mbia RB, Onhura(?), Nelson, Hill CB, Traore LB, Faurlin, Park, Granero MF, Zamora, DJ.....subject to all being fit etc.

He is young and misguided by his agent, but handled the right way he can be the player we all want him to be.

Warnock knew how to play and handle him.

IMHO at present he is the only creative player we have in the starting line up therefore he is always looking to make the pass or shoot himself. He has desire which I'm afraid a lot of our lot don't have at present.

He plays best when wide on the left, look at his assists , goals etc over the three or four seasons he's been with us and you will see. In a midfield four of Taarabt, Faurlin, Diakite,A N Other he thrives as its Faurlin who makes the passes and creates so much. When Faurlin does not play Adel becomes the creator and loses the best part of his game which is running at defenders at the edge of the box and coming in behind the front two. Playing up front alongside or just off Cisse is counter productive as is playing him down the middle.
How well did Warnock know how to handle him in when he managed him in the Prem??

He already got 22% of the votes for the Liverpool game and he was canine feces like most of the team..motm polls on here mean little. If Park ever plays for us again then he will get votes from his hero worshiping fans just like Adel gets now.

Speaking of Park, he won Airasia QPR player of the month for December. He didn't even play!
"When you went to the corner and saw our fans celebrating the way they were you just wanted to be part of it" - Shaun Derry after we beat the scum 1-0

This is totally missing the main point imo, and also highlighting the problem.

Too many fans expect him to do "spectacular things" and he himself tries to do spectacular things and this is the problem 90% of the time. Yes it's great when it comes off, but ffs Adel, do it in the right areas of the pitch, or when there's literally no alternative.

The problem is, especially of late after he's re-established himself as a pretty much certain starter, he's trying stuff nealy every time he gets the ball and more often than not messing it up and leaving the team at risk with players out of position when the opposition break against our already suspect defence. It doesn't help for example if Traore's bust a lung to give an option 40 yards up the left Wing, only to be ignored by Adel who loses the ball..... Good teams, like Liverpool the other day, exploit the openings and play in the holes created by such errors. The CB's then have to stretch creating a gaping hole in the heart of the defence for clever players, like Suarez, Rooney, RVP, Aguero etc etc etc to exploit to the full.

What i want is for Adel to forget the spectacular stuff and become a master of the simple things. Play the game almost within himself, which will be far more effective for the team, but also, knowing when needed he could leave someone for dead in a blink of an eye. Also, if he didn't try the tricks all the time, defending players would be less likely to expect it when he occasionally did, probably resulting in far more success.

For me there was a lesson to be learned the other day for Adel, not by Suarez who was class it has to be said, but from Gerrard. Obviously one of the best of a generation, but the other day what was so brilliant was that he made everything he did look so simple, which for a player of his talent it was, but it was simply effective for Liverpool. He doesn't need fancy tricks and 40 yard shots to standout... he does that by making the game look effortless. Adel take note and you may one day get somewhere close to his worth to a football team.
