can somebody explain to me quickly how the club isnt in debt :( im having an arguement with a fulham fan who is persuaded we have debt

We are in debt, but we have no external debt. The shareholders have invested in the club in the shape of loans, so we have internal debt. Which is Tony, his Malaysian partners and the Mittals.

Portsmouth got into trouble by having many external creditors, HMRC being the biggest and the ones that kept forcing them into administration. That's the main difference between us and Pompey.

Found this decent write up the other day. Beware it's very long, and I've only really had chance to skim it when I'm supposed to be working heh.

He holds no interest at all in the club. All his loans were taken over by the existing shareholders too. Well, that's according to Philip Beard and Amit Bhatia anyhow.

Don't think he does but I flew back yesterday from my family holiday in Sardinia and my wife w reading an article about him in an in flight magazine as he's got a nightclub on the island plus some shops. I noticed reference to QPR in the article and therefore took an interest. The geezer still hates us even a year on. Says no one goes into football to make money and said if your a billionaire you can become a millionaire by investing in football and actually end up with nothing if you are a millionaire. I burst out laughing when he said only in football can fans pay £20 and believe they are entitled to abuse you.

This from the guy who treats his employees like dog shite heh. Some people just don't have a sense of self awareness at all. Apparently he wanted all the names of the fans who gave him abuse, an absolute **** if ever there was one.

Will the currecnt Loftus Road ground worth more than the new ground?

It's the land that is worth the money, and since they are talking about having a bigger stadium plus other facilities like hotels, club megastore, casinos, cinemas etc then definitely not.

But the revenue from the other ventures plus new sponsorship deals (inc stadium naming rights) plus sale of the Loftus Road plot should be a substantial bit of wedge to go towards the new stadium.

It doesn't need to and I don't think it will. Stadium naming rights will go a long way to paying for its construction.

The post I put up showing stadium naming rights deals had me thinking about our new training ground. Man City have done a deal with Etihad which included naming rights for their training ground. I wonder if we're doing something similar. This might explain the delays that were recently reported.

As a company director i can understand QPR buisness head, Tony needs to aim high i agree i know we havent always been in this area before but the commercial activitys will easily outlay the Turnstile income

which takes us right to the heart of the new stadium debate. If that statement is true - and there is plenty of evidence to support it - why bother risking debt to build a new stadium? Why not just re-develop LR over a time frame?

Thats going over old ground - no pun intended.

The subject has been done to death - LR cant be redeveloped as there's literally no space anywhere round the ground to develop into.
