It was still a shot from the edge of the box, unlucky for Alfie he miss kicked it.
All i'm saying is, probably not a high xg chance.

Played well, especially the first half. Chair, Burell, Madsen and Edwards were good. Also happy for Poku in the second half. Possess some magic with the ball. If he stays injury free will be a great asset for us.

Any news on the injuries? Just precaution or bad injuries?

Good workout. Thought we would get smashed by them but we held our own.

Hope the injuries are nothing to worry about.

Sounds like good run out and decent afternoon of entertainment for those in attendance - much better than last year's cack that included the 6-0 walloping in Spain then a dour 0-1 loss to Bees.

Feels like the club have conducted a pretty solid pre-season for a change.

I see they play Watford midweek - might be interesting to see how that pans out given bookies have them and us 6/1-ish to go down.

Just back from the game. Generally good all round performance. Some slick moves at times. Kone and Madsen coming off are a worry though. However, I thought Fiorentina's Brazilian right back no.3 (Dodo dos Santos) always looked dangerous down their right and easily carved our left flank open a couple of times. Decent work out though, particularly with that searing first half heat. Goal for Boy Kemper and nice strike by Smyth.

I've felt for a while that our left backs get a bum deal compared to our right backs cos we seem to weight/shape our formation towards the right so our RBs invariably have a bit of cover in front of them whilst the LBs are left more exposed. Did Kemper have much protection ahead of him, did we play an obvious left winger or did any midfielder offer some shielding for Kemper or did their rampaging RB get a bit of free run at him?

I don't recall seeing Smyth track back a ton but maybe I'm wrong as he can seem to turn up all of a sudden and I wonder wtf he came from. Like for his goal

But u tul Subs he was the one playing that left side of a front three so probably it anyone he was supposed to cover Kemp

Certainly for their first goal the shielding was absent allowing the RB a free run. The link-up play between dos Santos and his midfield counterpart was working well before he got subbed. However, later on we were causing Firenze the same problems down their left; Poku was a live wire, and thank you dos Santos for giving away the first half penalty! Kolli would have netted if he had the chance to play in the second half I'm sure.

Talking about pre-season friendlies, although they lost 3-0, the ultra groups of German third tier side Hansa Rostock took over Watford today.

I was at the game. Kone didn’t look good. Seemed to be holding his hamstring when he hobbled off. Not sure about Madsen although looked less serious but what do I know

if Kone is out for a while, whilst he tries Lloyd isn’t good enough at championship level, Kolli is nowhere to be seen so with just Burrell we will be short for sure up top

Kone can be a bit of a drama queen with injuries, his antics at PNE were really strange. He spent about 10 minutes limping about in a highly exaggerated fashion and signalling to be subbed. He then sat down twice during open play to stop game for treatment. At the end of the second bout of treatment he then refused to go off when his number went up.
Hopefully he's okay and it's a combination of a precautionary substitution and his eccentric attitude.
