A second tier Austrian side and the big game against a team in the Austrian top tier in their 4,000 capacity stadium. Two training session games to start preseaaon and good enough I suppose.

It would be great if these games can be used as a shop window for Celar and we can leave him there after hes impressed the local scouts!!

It would be nice if pre season friendlies were used for burning- in our new look team with it's shiny new signings so we can hit the ground running when the real deal starts; instead of just going through the motions. BTW, when did we last win our opening league game? I think it was 2020/21 season?

I'm still not convinced we gave Celar a chance, he got injured just as he seemed to settle in.

He didn't produce at Fortuna Düsseldorf in the German second tier either. In 16 appearances, zero goals or assists. But if he comes back and bags a few goals then happy days. But it will surely need either Kone or Burrell to go before he got near the pitch? Im hoping for a Swiss Billionaire to buy him from us for his club.

We'll still be dicking around with the team when season starts. It has become custom and practice to view the opening games as experimental and only settle down to business when the window shuts. Expect us to be in bottom 5 and out of Carabao Cup by then. Really annoying!

With Carabao Cup the week after Wimbledon does that mean we have no home friendly then? It'd have to be midweek before Carabao Cup or midweek before the opening league game so I'm guessing we won't have one. Wonder if they're working on the HQ pitch (remember how poor it was over winter) and are giving it as much rest as possible?

Does kind of suggest we'll treat the cup game as a hybrid friendly/experimental occasion as per last season's debacle at Plymouth.

Would prefer it to be away in Florence, that would be a very agreeable away day, actually long weekend, indeed!

All in all a decent work out.
                            But should have won it.
                            On to the next one.

Great news on Salamon, who is 2yrs older than Charles!

The more I think about the Charles signing the less I like about it.
