Field is 28yrs in May and we already have one old one in Haydon, and he seems to be favoured over Field. Places on the pitch are being prioritised to younger players with future resale value in Varane 24yrs, who is ready to he sold in the summer, and Morgan 20yrs in Mar.
Playing for QPR is generally a shop window and Field isnt getting game time ahead of Varane & Morgan because he'll never command anything more than a nominal fee because of his age.
Developing younger players is why JS was recruited and he knows his brief.

Haydon, Varane & Edwards is enough cover for one position if your assessment is correct. And if that isnt enough we have Morgan with an onfield adjustment re: Madsen & Dunne.Originally posted by 3London View Post
Sure but of the Players you list the only one who can play in Fields position is Hayden - None of the others can put a tackle in or shield the back four like Field does. Yes Ronnie can play there. And i imagine that is what will happen when the inevitable injuries to Hayden and Varane happen
the thought of Dembele , Saito , bennie, Poku, Smyth or Vale playing the role that Field does is truly scary!
so that leaves - Hayden , varane and Edwards - dunne is not Mobile enough
Morgan is more of an attacking mid rather than defensive. As proved the other week when he played with Madsen in the middle - Madsen ended up dropping back to cover most of the time.
With a relatively thin budget choices & sacrifices have to be made. He wanted off too.

Edwards is a class act but he certainly isn't a defensive midfielder by any stretch infact he looked totally lost when he played in that position and understandably tooI played sunday league football today.
Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.
I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.
We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

Yep I’d agree with thatOriginally posted by WeAreQPR12 View PostEdwards is a class act but he certainly isn't a defensive midfielder by any stretch infact he looked totally lost when he played in that position and understandably too
I’d rather if we’re short Mbengue who has played midfield for reading drop in their if we’re short got pace but reckless but I’d rather our back 4 be solid

There’s an accumulative issue with this, however. Yes, Ronnie may be able to step into a defensive midfield role and perform it to a moderate standard; that is, if he’s not being asked to cover a position at full back or to cover somebody else who is playing at full back. I’m happy for Sam to go and get more playing time and more power to him at his age but rationalising out of position players is papering over the cracks not building a new wall. It’ll have to do until the end of the season but let’s not believe that not filling positions with specialists is an acceptable or clever strategy.

Ronnie could do a job as the bottom of the diamond i.e. protecting the centre backs and feeding further forwards as being comfortable on the ball but not venturing too far and getting embroiled in midfield scraps for possession.
As Hoddle used to tell Eddie Newton at Chelsea .'I never want to see you in front of the ball'
p.s. anyone seen or heard about JCS?

The one glaring weakness in our fancy recruitment matrix is it's too willing to buy players with known injury records. Maybe I'm being harsh but I feel fairly sure that JCS, Dembele, Morrison and Poku had suboptimal fitness records when they joined us. We signed Vale whilst he was injured and a year later I wouldn't say he's made of glass but he's been a bit "in and out" with knocks etc.
I know some will say we have to take a risk cos we can't afford to pay top dollar but I think it's a false economy acquiring known crocks on the cheap.

Gotta question the medical team as well and our pitch don’t help it’s abysmal in today’s technology available that we can’t grow some grass in a shade areaOriginally posted by Abseits View PostThe one glaring weakness in our fancy recruitment matrix is it's too willing to buy players with known injury records. Don't they wheel out the hydroponic lights for artificial sunlight? I've seen some clubs have them on the pitch when Sky are doing their post match analysis?Originally posted by shaggy24 View Post

Didn't someone mention recently the problem is the pitch drainage in our old ground? Maybe the pitch has died off because of too much rain?

All new stadiums have hydroponic lighting systems not sure we have them I thought we just had heating underneath I maybe wrong to promote grass growthOriginally posted by SheepRanger View Post

to me it looks like it’s been cut too short and watered too much

Birmingham were in the news the other week when their IR pitch lights reflected off low murky clouds one night and gave the sky an eerie red tinge. Don't think these things are just the preserve of new stadia.Originally posted by shaggy24 View Post

They come on wheeled arrays, just wheel them on and switch them on. Trouble is with LR we have no space to store much equipment I suppose so where would they live?
