Doubt we’ll get a ‘name’ as the clubs approach now is to get players and coaches recruited who play the style being established. This will stop the endless turnover of players and enable the club to avoid the financial issues created when a new guy comes in and wants his own players. Cifuentes signed a new contract knowing this so I have no time for claims he fell out with ceo . If I’d ever aired in public their were issues I had with others in my team I’d have got booted out. You do this behind closed doors .

I believe next manager/head coach comes from outside UK again. Most likely someone we have never heard before, just like Marti

I genuinely can't see why we don't let Betsy and Calm carry on as caretaker/interim co-managers. If the mythical QPR methodology truly exists those two will know it inside out and can hit the ground running (I wanted to say "walking" then but I've decided to not dwell on 24/25..).

You'd hope Lloyd, Kolli, Morgan, Bennie, Sutton and other dev players coming through would all be on board with Betsy and the handful of seniors still at the club will be okay with Calm.

I would be completely content to give them at least until that October international break to see how they fared. Frankly, none of the names getting touted make me think "phwooaaarrr" so hence my tendency to do nothing as it were.

The CEO is no doubt crouched over his laptop right now checking the stats on an amazing new manager from Swaziland or some other country with no knowledge of the Championship. As long as the guy has a high score against playing sideways and backwards he’ll get the job!

I really can't think of any back ups who've who've taken over after a managerial change who have been successful.

True, but they are often good for several games. I may be wrong but don't the wheels usually come off after they've done well as caretaker and get given the gig full-time? We seem to be in such a tailspin just getting 10 okay-ish games out of them would be welcome.

I find the situation with Calm interesting, normally when managers get launched their whole entourage goes too. It might simply be a Human Resources thing.. Calm hasn't technically done anything wrong so they can't bung him on gardening leave. There's no point in him resigning and following his mate into the wilderness, so he just stays put and dares the club to sack him and pay him off. Maybe I'm barking up the wrong tree and Calm is not joined to Marti's hip and is content to soldier on here and get stuck in.

Whatever, just letting two guys who know the routine and rhythm of the club keep things ticking over doesn't seem to be a high risk strategy. Appointing some foreign Fancy Dan who has no idea what the mental EFL is like with 46 games, 3 games every 8 days with barely 15% of them at 3pm on a Saturday does carry risk in my view.

Ultimately it all comes down to who we can afford and who is available I suppose.

Betsy? The same one who had a disaster as manager of Crawley and was sacked with his team rock bottom.

Yeah sorry Abs, can't jump onboard with that, even if in theory you are correct. In any other business company policy should flow consistenttly no matter who is in charge, but in reality managers can and often do make a huge difference.

However, plenty, if not all top coaches have all been assistants somewhere before being given a shot at the top spot. So, lets say Mr Calm was actually the man responsible for most of the good elements of our play under Marti, and he wants to step in, has the ambition, then why not i suppose? But not based upon one performance.

I'd really like it all to be resolved asap really. Even if it's Marti back with an explaination.

Agree, would be ideal if Marti came back from the garden.

Seems all this has come about because West Brom wanted him but didn't want to/ can't afford to pay the compensation

Seems to me the club have done what was necessary to prevent a situation where Marti can quit and so then join West Brom for free

So if they bring him back in I'd like to think Marti will do his best for the club and his own career

... Worked for Brentford and did alright for us with Marti for what it was worth.
Just need to find one that doesn't keep trying to leave at first chance they get.

Warburton fell out with the moneyballers at Brentford - I'm not sure there are many modern managers who are happy to take a back seat to a suit with a spreadsheet. Most managers have raging egos.
