And why are there all these examples of players flopping at QPR who suddenly improve as soon as they leave? It's not like they instantly improved overnight or weren't cr@p before they joined us, is it?

e.g. Damian Delaney, Jason Puncheon, Stephane M'bia, Steven Caulker (watch this space) and all the rest etc...

To be fair, I think puncheon only played 2 or 3 games for us.

Was Delaney really considered a flop with us as well?

Exactly. Then we sold him. Wasn't even given a chance.

Certainly remember him getting heaps of abuse on here.

Its really weird isn't it. I think it used to be the wages, now its the fluctuation in personnel. As I said, I have no doubt Chery can be a success, but I don't think he'll be as good as Fer can be and for that reason, I'd rather stick with Fer unless we get something ludicrous for him and give Chery the chance to succeed elsewhere.

                Nasser,

I've just read some of your stuff regarding Fer on this thread. I'm astonished mate, I really am.

He has been pretty awful for us throughout his time here, but particularly this season. Not much worse than some of the others, granted. But when weighing up against expectation, he has been pretty rank.

Still getting over your comment about him being significantly better than someone in the air. Have you seen his constant bottling out of headers? The bloke barely gets further than up on tip toes for goodness sake.

You also claim he has a 33% shooting accuracy. Well if you think that 1 shot in 3 on target is in any way acceptable, then I guess I can see why you are so easily pleased with some of the others.

Hopefully he can start to show that he might just make a decent player, I'm sure we would all love to see it. But there's countless reasons why folk accuse you of being deluded if you think for a moment that he has been good for us.

I'm half expecting you to muster up some form of defence for Traore on another thread. So far though, it seems that is a step too far, even for you.

I'll go through this one line by line, just so it makes sense.

Pretty awful throughout his time here? Lets look at last season bearing in mind he was played out of position for 80% of it, he got 6 goals in 27 starts and 2 sub appearances, and two assists, was our highest rated player over the course of the season in that he kept consistently getting good scores, reaching a rating of 7.27. The only player who passed more accurately than him last season was Rio Ferdinand and he had 5 man of the match awards throughout the season.

I've watched him heading a lot and I see that he can win even more than the ridiculously high amount he does at the moment if he timed his jumps better. However, reading you say that barely gets further than his tip toes suggests you aren't paying attention. He leaps like a bl oo dy salmon but always tends to do it a second too early.

If you think one in three for a midfielder is bad, lets take a look at a few other top level competitors. Yaya Toure has hit 19 out of his 62 shots on target (31% accuracy), Ross Barkley has hit 21 out of his 62 shots this season on target (34% on target), Oscar has hit 10 on target out of 31 (32% accuracy), Sigurdsson has hit 19 out of 50 shots on target (38% accuracy). These are top level players playing in similar roles to Fer and he's hitting roughly the same accuracy as these lot. So now tell me, am I easily pleased, or are you overly expectant?

I'm already seeing a decent player there, even though he is out of form, but watch him get in form and skyrocket the team up. He's a driving force and can be a huge element of our success if we stop getting on his back because you think he should be a different player. He does things his own way and it works in my opinion, just focus more attention on him in games and watch his movement at times. It's very unique.

I wouldn't worry mate Nasser can never see anyone else's opinion but his own, and he believes that stat's are the gospel

I'm not gonna break that down one sentence at a time cos frankly I cant be bothered, nor do I think I or anyone else will change ur opinion of our Leroy!

What I will say, as a stat is that Fer has played 20odd games thus season for us and has dominated appox 0 of them. That's a massive 0% success rate and far lower than the superb players that you have mentioned in your post (please never compare Fer and Yaya Toure again).

Nasser, I don't think I could get 2 out of 3 shots off target from in and around the box. This is the trouble with a lot of fans today, they have come to accept mediocrity as the norm. I've lost count of the number of times I see a player drag a shot wide from the edge of the box, blast it way over the bar or hit it tamely, straight to the keeper. It's really a simple case of poor technique or poor decision making. Perhaps if a player isn't confident in his ability to force a save from the keeper, maybe there is a better option available to him.

As for him leaping like a salmon, I agree. I would imagine if you placed him next to one on the pitch, then they would produce a similar attempt at winning a header.

Puncheon fell out with Warnock right?

Been saying it for years our coaches and behind the scenes personnel are responsible for the team underperforming and thus players looking better once they move on.

And Fer's stop applying himself since he got married, had a kid and we got relegated imo. He's in cruise control right now.

Ergo he misses a lot of headers he should / could win.
