can add to the squad if he wants it-hopefully he can look around the changing room come the end of august and say..yes i'll have some of this. could see hoddle getting him playing his best football-both cut from the same cloth. IF he ain't bothered then he can fc uk off and never darken the door again.

      Hoddle is Adel's only hope.

exactly 1 season...the same as Remy!!! Faurlin was farmed out on loan so was Joey they still have huge parts to play in this season.
It is possible to come back from a loan spell...

Strpping Adel of it and giving it to Barton was a sane and sensible thing, any team player would know that.
He was made captain because he was the heart of that team, best player we had by a mile and the reason we went up.

Barton is a proven cannon, he was clearly hesitant about coming and only came because we offered him inflated wages. A true mercenary if ever there was one! But sadly that doesn't fit the 'hard working right sorts' narrative people want to buy into...

          Here's a couple nice quotes from our captain;
"When I went to QPR it was a choice dictated by money. I didn’t like what I had done, and I swore I’d never do that again.
"It was the first time in my life that I had taken a decision for money. I did it because my partner was due to give birth – but I did not feel good about it.

Doesn;t sound like a great role model tbh...

If he done that I reckon you would not hear one peep from the fans about him as even if the tricks and flicks were not coming off he would still be contributing. Currently all he offers is the chance of entertainment through his skills there is more often then not no end product to the tricks. If I want to be entertained with tricks I will go to a circus
Aside from Remy & arguably Cisse he's been the only real match winner we've had in recent years. Whether you like it or not he's done as much for this club as anyone we've got here.

& I don't know how you can be so convinced he won't put a shift in, he's done it at Milan & here with positive results. He's taken the **** in the past but my point is the management have done the same to him… The argument that he offers tricks & gimmicks is a load of waffle, he was at the heart of a lot of the goals/matches we won last time in the Prem, and add to that he was playing with Park Mackie & SWP who aren't on his wavelength whatsoever.

Get him feeding Remy and we will win matches.

As if people are still trotting out the "no end product" myth.

In terms of goals and assists, Adel delivered more in our relegation season than any of our midfielders did in our promotion season. And that's despite only starting 25 matches. Think about that for a moment.

Let's face it he is the football equivalent to Marmite...
I would love to see him back in an R's kit but only if it's right...

re: 'putting in a shift', it says so mch about the english football mentality that your average WATRBs poster completely ignores the fact Adel works harder than almost anyone on our team when we have the ball. Always moving around into space, opening up gaps in the opposition, looking for the ball. Jamie Mackie spent 2012/13 marking defenders whenever we had the ball but he's remembered as hardworking because of the manic full-back closedowns.

And yeah Adel + Remy was/is a great combo.

The reasons Faurlin, Remy, Adel and Barton were loaned out were very different and to concoct comparrisons is not fair to each player.

Remy seems to be willing to put in a good shift whatever shirt he's wearing, Faurlin is the same. Barton was snubbed by Hughes, rightly or wrongly, but came back a better man. Adel has a superiority complex that prevents him performing for those he deems inferior to him. His career lies elsewhere, not here.

if we had a couple of attacking MIDs lined up to take his place I could agree with you, as I said earlier I don't know where I stand.
But the fact is he is a special talent, on his day one that will win matches, and at any level that is a commodity.
We are in desperate need of a player that has the killer pass, and weather you like it or not he is capable.

Adels attitude is obviously crap, but it is ridiculous the rewriting of history that happens, depending on whether a player is currently popular or not.

I'd love to think Harry has connected with Adel in some way and we get to see the player that could be, but I can't honestly see Adel climbing down off of that high horse he seems to be on.

Yep. See also Bobby Zamora and all the people on here saying he's a great option to have coming off the bench yadda yadda. Ignoring the fact he was a complete and utter waste of a squad place for 99% of the time he was here.

Adel wasn't even particularly unpopular when we went down. The revisionism seems to have happened since he last played for us

For a player of his ability he is was way short in the contribution stakes for both goals and assists. In fairness to him it's a team game so others should chip in but given how highly thought if he is he should really have delivered more then he did

Also take the blinkers off and highlight for the same season how many costly errors he made and there are plenty and that's in 25 games fairs fair

Hoddle's always rated him. Can see this being good for Tarbs if he stays.

Look at Fulhams treatment of him... exactly the same as harrys, they bombed him out for his lazy attitude.
