Ok player in a $hit team that season!

So what do you make of his 2011 antics???

Yes gotta say I was constantly entertained by his appalling set pieces and shooting. Edge of the seat stuff. Actually I may be getting entertained confused with frustrated.

That's actually not true Mackie aside. SWP, Hoillet and Bobby have had loads and loads of threads and comments saying how rubbish they are. Holliet is usually referred to as Toilet, SWP well just last week there was a thread where people said get shot and there has been since his first season and the love in over bobby is only since the Play Offs

For me those three have had just as much stick as Adel during the same period

A great example of selective memory

I'm happy to defend Adel's contribution and value overall but I'm obviously not going to defend his various tantrums themselves. They're the only reason we had such a talented player in the first place, nevermind got several years out of him.

Not sure what I need to do here? We all know Adel has his flaws. It's possible to hold my views on Adel while also recognising that, yes, footballers shouldn't throw tantrums.

This'd be like me going round Clint Hill threads going "but what about all those hoofs to no one in the channels??!?!?!"

I remember some good moments as well son but have to say they were very few and far between the very below average set pieces and wayward shooting that formed the majority of his contribution.

                  • The God-like status given to Adel is an odd one. No one is saying he's a bad player because he's not. There are serious concerns over his attitude and application. That's maybe why we haven't had a multitude of clubs banging down the door wanting his signature.
Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.

                    • Reality is.. the god like status comes from fans who have never seen so many step-overs, drops of the shoulder, tricks and strikes into the top corner regularly at a live match.
Even if it was for one season

                        • ...... compared to the rest of them in terms of pure ability he is a god. My problem is as a youngster I was used to the great 10s, three brilliant managers and a version of total football at LR FFS, it was pure football that achieved our highest ever league place. A load of journeymen huffing and puffing was always going to be a comedown. I'll support them regardless, but we all know we are about as creative as a slab of concrete.

If Glenda switches Adel back on and Remy stays, you'll see what I mean.

                          • People always raise the "you guys hero worship Adel, he's your god" strawman.

I've just spent a whole thread arguing that 5 goals and 4 assists in 25 starts is a perfectly good return for an entertaining attacking midfielder in a poor side, and that people were rewriting history if they argued otherwise. Hardly claimed the guy is Johan Cruyff now have I?

                            • I think Adel's main problem is focus, he will infuriate with wastage but equally he will also create. He is an entertainer, and that is a rare commodity these days. I still think in the right hands he will be an asset, maybe we all disagree on that.
