Strict guidelines that he continually managed to reach the top of. Beard is a 'yes' man. Well, he was. Hopefully that's changed, under even more strict rules from TF. There has been no middle ground since he arrived until relegation. Every player signed has been on the top end of the wage structure.

As for my opinion of him, i have no issue as CEO and think he's anything but "out of his depth" and does a good job for the club and the owners. Bear in mind also the amount of ins and outs there have been since he joined and the turnover of playing staff is probably as high as any club, so anything but an easy job. Has he faltered?? I wouldnt say so. Not sure exactly what you expect from a CEO......

The one thing i do find hilarious, not only this forum but all QPR forums is .........we have never ever had so much money to spend on players in the club and our fans are

Its amazing that some people will, on one hand take the media's word for it when it suits them and on the other, denounce them as ill informed when it doesn't. The only true source of reliable information is the club and so far, they've said nothing about Rio Ferdinand....

If you actually think Beard makes the decisions as to how much players are offered in long term multi year wage contracts you are beyond naive. It's not his money and he will be working to strict guidelines laid out by the owners.... In other words they dictate what players can earn. Beard is just a middle man. Blimey.

fwiw, i don't get lots of things about this deal. was rio really on £200k at man utd? according to most man utd fans he was on £80-90k last year... if we're really thinking of paying him not that much less given his recent injury record, then no wonder the chairman is thinking of saying no.

The Telegraph have just quoted Harry as saying Rio will sign after the world cup anyway and also we've agreed a fee with Cardiff for Caulker and it's now up to the player.

So he told you he was in talks and nothing more? Sounds like you're adding 2 to 2 and getting 5 mate.... He could have already signed but based on the telegraph article quoting Harry as "it's now up to the player" suggests he came over for talks and has gone back to think about it...
