I think you're being silly if you think signing Parker is very much a case of 'not this again'

Even if Parker is offered a decent wage, he will put in a shift. He is not the type of player that would just be wanting to pick up his huge wage like m'bia and Diakite.

Parker is a proper old school pro that always gives 110% and he would be a very good signing. Henry isn't a good footballer and never will be. I never rated him at wolves and he looks like he's playing with zero confidence. Negative and very basic. Parker can be a leader and has played against the best, big big signing if we can get him.
