The poll expires on Monday, as will this thread. Yes I did create it with the best intentions and certainly never expected this amount of reaction. With the benefit of hindsight perhaps it wasn't the most appropriate course of action, but it's done now and it's here. However I do reject the accusation that this is some kind of "mob-justice" as this would be an insult to our 57 members who voted, the majority of whom are all well-respected, long-term posters. This was an exceptional circumstance in which ONE poster has become the constant cause of thread-hijacking and flame-wars, and only the 2nd occasion in this forum's history that we've had to resort to the measure of taking a public poll. And as previously stated, defining trolling can be a very grey area. I therefore agreed with another poster that in this case putting it to a public vote would be a fairer way to make such a discernment, however distasteful that may be perceived by some.
