I know that we had used 4 subs before Mbengue's walk, but with the game at 90 mins up, surely it would be elementary basic football sense to have made that last defensive substitution at that point with only stoppage time left to play? Am I missing something?

Yep js seems to forget we’ve splashed out on Ronnie fair enough keeping the same back 4 that’s kept 2 x clean sheets but now he’s gotta put jimmy rb who can cross can pass and can control a ball why not do it to replace the totally inept mbengue

I think everyone putting this on Mbengue is harsh, yes it was a silly challenge when on a yellow but let’s be honest he shouldn’t have been on a yellow in the first place, that card he got just before half time was never a card, yet their right winger gets away with 3 things worse. So I actually blame Stephan for this, Mbengue should have been taken off yet some negative substitution Field on for Vale was what did the real damage for me, it made up put literally every player back in our own box. Then Walsh feeble punch to only free player on pitch for equaliser.
