Esquerdinha did OK. Straight into 1st team. Very difficult. His mistake for goal. Overall, did well. Got forward, few challenges. Work in progress.

Mbengue and Morrison good. Mbengue played like he wanted to be in team next week. Hard to drop.

Second half, we were too timid. That's been going on far too long.

Im not too sure why Esquerdinha is getting the blame their goal. As the LB you'd expect him to be more forward in that scenario, but the ball went straight down the middle and Morrison was no where to be seen.

In the amatuer game, you expect the CB to be goal side and as soon as the long ball was kicked the goalkeeper would be sprinting to get back on his line.

The learning has to be the positioning of Morrison and Walsh imo.

Having given yesterday a bit more thought l think we missed some of our key players JD especially and Nardi. Wasn’t any leadership on the pitch and Chair seemed to be whinging a bit. PNE weren’t up to much and we need to make sure we improve especially going forward. It was two points dropped but no witch-hunt yet. That’s for a few weeks time

I think we have to get used to missing Nardi and Walsh is a young keeper who we're developing and he seems to be Nos 1 this season. I'd be suprised if he's not given a run of at least ten games to see if he can cut it.

you can't blame morrison - the goal came from our corner - the 3 defending were Madsen , Chair and Esquerdinha. Our centre backs were in the opposition penalty box at the point the goalkeeper releases the ball.

Great awareness by there keeper but it was still 3 against one when the ball reached the striker.

Esquerderia plays him onside as he is ahead of Madsen and chair.

We seem to be slow with the Subs, (unlike PNE) I think we needed the change on 50mins IMO as once they has scored we lost a bit of confidence.

Ronnie Edwards found himself badly out of position against Wrexham on Saturday, pushed the player in the back and conceded a penalty.
Even the best players can get caught out by a killer pass.

Different season same old crap. I did like the way we tried to get the ball forward quicker , apart from Walsh who slowed it down every time he got it . I t was'nt as painful as Marti's boring football. Some of the new players did ok , Mbengue looks like he's got a mistake in him and not very good in the air but he gives plenty of effort has pace and is aggressive which i like. Poku looked ok and will cause teams plenty of problems but looked like he pulled his hamstring , hopefully he won't be out too long. Adamson and Vale looked lively when they came on and like the look of Burrel , he caused Preston more trouble than Celar in half the time. Esquerdinha has potential but is knowhere near ready for first team yet. Sam Field was poor , so slow and he made three good runs into the box and his control let him down every time. I thought Madsen did ok , Chair was good first half , Morrison ok , as was Morgan. Dembele was very good. Walsh is a big worry , every time the ball went near him it worried me and his kicking is atrocious. We probably won't play many worse teams than Preston but it is early days , hopefully we will sign a Srtiker and a left back and a midfielder that can create and run a bit, could do with a better keeper as well. I won't hold my breath though , it seems our owners and board want young players that will improve and they can sell , me personally i would rather have a team that tries to win any competition we enter rather than improve players for the premier league ##### to buy.

Wow - I have really bad eyesight, but genuinely thought it was Morrison in the centre.

I don't rate Nardi either , not a bad shot stopper but very quiet and timid , does'nt organise the defence and weak on crosses. Walsh might come good eventually but for a team that fannies around with the ball between the defenders and keeper , he is'nt good enough , his kicking is really poor.

Exactly , Esquerdihna misjudged the length of the kick and was caught in two minds. He should have dropped deeper and headed it clear. Hopefully he will learn and he has some skills but in my opinion the Preston wingback gave him a hard time yesterday.
