Well that was fun, this one on the manager to a certain extent, to play the young kid ahead of ND, and play an out of sorts Vale is totally baffling. Ipswich were not that good, and had a keeper nearly as bad as ours, however terrible defending from young left back, and shocking defensive mistakes from Cook and co gave away the goals. I have said before what I think of Nardi before, he is just a terrible keeper.

I think manager over thinks this 3 game week and chops and changes too much, drop your fastest defender, yet play your oldest every game.

Mid table team at best, and please Santa can we have a new goalkeeper for Xmas.

Agree on GK need a rb jimmy just out of sorts this season

Left back all full of flicks and flicks that don't come off and he can't get back in position.

Vale was poor , madsen the game passed him by .
Keeper poor again , Frey bentos , can't jump and if u don't jump I won't win headers and flick on's...
Apart from that , we got slapped.
We had our moments in the 1st half but were 2nd best all over the pitch after the break .

A good time to draw breath and not to overreact. I have been in Spain for a while and missed most of the game. I posted this morning that I was not confident going into this one. Let's be clear, we are not that good but we are also not that bad. BUT DJHooper is 100% correct. We have absolutely no leadership anywhere on the pitch. All other issues pale into insignificance. The club's (seeming) unawareness of this issue, continues to cost us dear. If we continue as we are, merely tinkering with players and positions, without facing up to this issue, I see lots more days like today.

I called out JS last week for a tactical shitshow. Not sure he covered himself in glory this week either - our set-up and shape looks dumb and easy to play against. Ipswich were simply competent, nothing special but trounced us after barely breaking sweat.
Most worrying for me is the subs and returning players dont change anything, all our changes are like-for-like. Doesn't matter who is on wings, final delivery is always poor.

I’m not sure it’s even leadership as much as it is about caring.

Very telling for me that immediately after the match which, for me, felt like an exercise in only turning up - Burrell aside - I turn over to catch the last moments of the rugby and the first thing I see are players on both sides going toe to toe with each other. I’m not advocating that that’s an entirely desirable thing but it goes a long way to showing how much players care about the shirt. Such a counterpoint to what was on display today.

It’s hard to see anyone associated with this club, other than the supporters, who have any emotional investment beyond it being a job of work. No love. No passion. No stakes.

It was far from the worst performance I’ve seen from the club but the unfortunate contrast of my switchover has been very revealing.

I just wish we had a leader who got at the ref a bit…when their player collided with the advertising boards but was receiving treatment off the pitch..their player decided to tie his lases up…& the ref waited for him!!
not one player was on the ref chastising him for not restarting play ..a little thing I know but can you imagine a Roy Keane type player letting the ref get away with that…we’re too nice..! ☹️

To try and add some positives, Poku came on and showed some good skill. Burrell was good again and it was nice to see Andy Sinton get a standing ovation on his way to the commentary box for his 1st game back, he seemed genuinely moved by it.

Yes. We were equally to blame for play stopping. To be fair to ref, I thought it was a bit of a shithouse unnecessary shove on their player... there's shielding the ball and shepherding it out of play and there's just pushing the player away. Ref could've easily given a foul (was it in the box?) and carded our player. I guess he opted to go on "in the middle" and give nothing but allow their player to recover. Could call it a common sense approach?
