Good post , anyone of us would run ourselves into the ground for this club , and play for free .Originally posted by ragr View PostAs a manager, his win ratio at Rennes was between 41-44%, at Strasbourg it was 33%. How good you view that depends on how you view French football, I guess.
His main selling point to the club hierarchy, and then to the supporters, was his "strong reputation for developing players." Which is a great reputation and skill to possess, with a half dozen of very well known names given as examples. Does this promote an individual or a team outlook? We could sell one of those players in that team yesterday, at some point, maybe, for five times what we paid for them and that'll help to balance the books and redress our financial woes.
I get it. The owners need some return on their investment in keeping us barely floating for several years. The price, rather than the cost, is that we have a club that is essentially staffed by players that are here doing agency work with an eye on the next move. I realise that that is a picture repeated across the football spectrum for clubs in the second tier and we're not alone. There's a wider football malaise here.
This is probably me pining for the days when - seemingly - players played for their current clubs with genuine pride and commitment and if something else came along then they considered it as a reward for that delivery. It feels like a lot of players in the current times are aiming for the future without truly earning and working for it in the present and that entire systems of people are involved in that. It's great to have a dream but the present is the only thing that's guaranteed to anyone. The balance is, in my eyes, seriously out of whack.
We are now told we are basically a stepping stone of a club .
Play well and you'll go on to bigger and better things , I'm ok with that .
But what we do expect is 100% from all of them .
We were out worked yesterday all over the pitch.
The Brazilian kids half hearted jog to get back into position isn't good enough, it's down to the management to address this .
We see how happy mbegs is when we win and how he plays up to the crowd .
These are the sort of characters we need on the pitch not the bench , not individuals that give up when we are losing .

JS said in the post match interview that one of their goals was caused from a technical error in our high press which wasn't one of our "patterns".
Are we really that predicable that we rehersed attacking patterns of play? It doesnt take a genius analyst to plot these out, see them in action and defend accordingly!!
Is this over thinking the game? Let the players work things out on the pitch and being more unpredictable may cause the opposition more problems.
I hate the whole game being mapped out in rehersed strategies. If I was a player I think I'd hate it too and plsyers should be free to work things out as they go along. I never had this in my amateur days and we still managed to score.....and defend!!

Romford always been a fan of yours but I can't believe how you've managed to get it so wrong. Ipswich were not that good???? I was watching them in awe. They will definitely be pushing for promotion and are by far the best team I've seen down the bush this season.I played sunday league football today.
Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.
I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.
We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!
