This. He was immense. Worked really, really hard. And I just loved seeing him, Mackie, Clint and Shaun on the pitch at the end. Our championship winning four......

    • Thought he played v well tonight apart from giving it away a few times. It's nice to see him play good away from home..well it's not that far from home.

      • Superb lay off, so disguised I was amazed SWP clocked it! Drew so many fouls, the Chelsea fans around me were getting really annoyed with him, a fair sign he was effective. Held the ball up and even won his fair share of flick ons. The ball he laid on for Mackie was superb. With better players around him he will only grow as a player.

He was playing a completely different position last night as a lone striker under instruction from Harry to hold the ball up using his skill and body strength and bring others into play, which he did superbly. Not easy when you have Cahill and Ivanovic biting your heels and taking lumps out of you all game. Probably the first time he's ever played that position in his entire career but with Zamora out he was given the task and excelled at it. He would also drop deep on plenty of occasions to help out. The fact he can play this role, plus on the wing or in the hole really shows his versatility. Granero and Nelson were superb too but Adel just edged MOM for me.

          • Biggest talent we have. Just see how much we miss him if he gets an injury that puts him out for a few weeks. The touch for the goal is the moment of magic than can win games. Great that SWP finished it, but Adel does that quite often and other players don;t finish them off.

            • Done well last night playing the striker role, held the ball up well and kept calm. A very well disciplined performance from him and the rest of the team

                • Am waiting for Mason to quote the stat of " 1 assist - big deal " especially if he has a bad game in the near future. But his whole performance was fantastic as well as the assist. Played for the team, passed very well and drew so many fouls to ease the pressure and slow the game down. Him and Granero linked very well.

One of the areas of his game that has improved is his strength. He's becoming like Mark Hughes was, good at holding onto the ball when players are around him. few years back he'd simply be barged off.

                    • I thought he started off pretty ropey - but then I think he started to get a bit of confidence in his role........ and the rest is history.

An in-form and fit DJ playing off of Adel perhaps?
