This hasn't even been officially announced yet has it? Still, his pedigree is there to be seen yet apparently he doesn't strengthen what is apparently a disastrously weak defence? :strive:

Spot on, this is why I find this board hard to post on. We go by computer games but if you're over 30 and you just want to know if anyone has watched him live you have zero hope of getting a straight answer

          Those not happy with bosingwa...
A year ago our defence was hill, hall, gabbidon and dyer.
          A marked improvement I'd say.

Very fair point Ginger- Not for a second am I not greatful for what we have now compared to the days of Perone etc.

I'm just not entirely sure we need him and if he'll be a big step up from what we already have.

More than happy for him to prove me wrong though.

I think some people get a little starry-eyed when a big name player gets linked with our little club. For years we've dealt in the bargain basement and brought in unknown players. As soon as a player from a big club is mentioned about coming to us, some people go really overboard. A player may have played well for Chelsea or Man U, but it doesn't necessarily follow they'll be good for QPR. Players are always potentially good signings for clubs rather than 'quality' signings.

The history of the transfer market is littered with flops and I'd prefer to see for myself how a player performs for us rather than make sweeping statements. Some people need to slow down a little and recognise the possibilities rather than the finished article.
Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.

Would you rather him or Nedum as rb?

Have mixed feelings about him. He has won many trophies, but ultimately with us he will be at right back and whenever i saw him defend he didn't fill me with confidence. Always looks good going forward though.

We'll have to give him time and see how we does.

He still is an international for Portugal!
First game: Arsenal vs Queen's Park Rangers at Highbury, Saturday 17th November 1984.

Comparing the performances of both last season, I'd have Nedum.

Bosingwa is better going forward but Nedum is very good defensively.

we have till 3pm today to register these players for tomo.

bosingwa is a fantastic signing. am afraid onough and trore will be warming the bench.

i really hope we can get this mbia deal sorted now. then that will be enough for transfers this season.

WELL DONE SPARKY AND TONY F. GREAT SIGNINGS AND GREAT COMMITMENT SHOWN.

                              YOU R'SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
As much as i'd love Bosingwa & maybe M'Bia in the first 11 tomorrow Mark Hughes doesn't strike me as that kind of manager, hopefully on the bench.

I think Bosingwa is a decent signing and Mark will get the best out of him, even more so being in our team over chelsea's. But M'Bia is the man i'm looking at. He needs to be signed as that's one of the best signings of the market
                              Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
                              And many more mistakes

LES FERDINAND, IT'S TIME TO GO

bosingwa is quality going forward and supporting on the wing with the attack, but he lacks positional discipline when defending and gets caught a lot out of position and causes problems for the team at the back sometimes with some suspect defending, however looking at the huge improvement our defence went through with hughes i imagine he'll be able to whip him into shape and sort him out.
