Why is everyone scoffing at the thought of selling him? He's worth no more than £2.5 million, and if somebody offered that then I'd sell him. He did a fantastic job for us last season but some people are going on like he's the second coming.

In the 10-11 season Ashley Young got 7 goals from 34 League games for Villa playing as a winger and was transferred to Man United for 18 million at the end of the season
In the 11-12 season Mackie got 7 goals in 31 league games whilst playing as a winger for us.
If Young worth so much why is Mackie worth so little?

signing an extension means nothing onl that you can command a bigger fee, think if someone offers £4-5m would have to consider it,

Still don't get why so many people don't rate Mackie??!! He had the season of his life last year, was head and shoulders Above 90% of our squad last season but gets so much stick because sometimes he has a heavy touch??!! I wouldnt sell him for less than 10million, I personally think he is almost invaluable to us, the way he raises everyone when he is on fire is excellent and he was integral to us staying up last year

If this is how it works do you think that at the end of the 2010-11 season DJ Campbell was worth £25million as he scored more PL goals than Wayne Rooney?

Mackie is, IMO, worth £4-5 Mill.

Agree,alot of those same posters were saying he was crap midway through the season,a decent impact sub who is worth about €2-€3 million
