This really needs some context. These incidents were years ago. Barton is a recovering alcoholic.

And the not being very nice to his team mates happened last year although obviously not to the same extent. But publicly.
Just ask Adel, Jamie, Shaun, ask Neil Warnock.

I think its quite a plausible explanation mate - it would explain why he wanted to make a discreet getaway and not press any charges, bit embarrassing otherwise

Putting the Adel issues to one side for a second, Barton does seem to get on well with the players. Judging from his twitter banter with them, the videos from the Spain training camp in Jan, the fact he socialises with them etc.

And yes, you're right to say 'was', because that is all that is fair to say right now. Even the Daily Mail's usual hatchet job can't dig up anything OFF THE PITCH in the last four years. I've not seen anything official, the only report I found said he would have been done for death by dangerous driving. THat may have included being over the limit, but it didnt mention it. It's not something I'd heard.

It was crass enough to use Ray Jones death as a defence of Joey Barton, but exaggeration wasn't necessary on top of that.

What is wrong with calling someone a drama queen, as if you can be bothered to check the urban dictionary, it was the perfect word to use to describe the post I was responding to.

1. Drama Queen
An overly dramatic person.

2. Drama Queen
Someone who turns something unimportant into a major deal. Someone who blows things way out of proportion when ever the chance is given.
