Originally posted by Geng View PostThis really needs some context. These incidents were years ago. Barton is a recovering alcoholic.
To be fair, I did say 'was'.
And the not being very nice to his team mates happened last year although obviously not to the same extent. But publicly.
Just ask Adel, Jamie, Shaun, ask Neil Warnock.

I think its quite a plausible explanation mate - it would explain why he wanted to make a discreet getaway and not press any charges, bit embarrassing otherwiseOriginally posted by QPRDave View Postdon't bring the gays out stanley the brigade'll be sure it was joey's fault then:omg-::omg-:

Putting the Adel issues to one side for a second, Barton does seem to get on well with the players. Judging from his twitter banter with them, the videos from the Spain training camp in Jan, the fact he socialises with them etc.Originally posted by QPR1976 View PostTo be fair, I did say 'was'.

And yes, you're right to say 'was', because that is all that is fair to say right now. Even the Daily Mail's usual hatchet job can't dig up anything OFF THE PITCH in the last four years. (see box at the bottom of this article, that the papers dig out every time anything happens to Joey: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/foo....html?ITO=1490)

Ray Jones was drink-driving? I thought it was dangerous driving? And three people (including himself) not five?Originally posted by Geng View PostWow, we really do have some pathetic fans.
Joey Barton gets attacked at 5am by some drunken idiots.
He's disgraced the club.
Ray Jones drinkdrives and crashes his car at 5am, killing several people.
He's a saint.
Don't recall many on WATRBs saying Jones 'disgraced the club'. I know which one I find considerably more disgraceful.
Let's not forget that this was Joey's first OFF THE PITCH incident since he joined us, and it appears he wasn't even in the wrong here.
Nobody thinks Ray was a saint (he made a terrible error, that cost him and his friends their lives), but lets not start exaggerating the 'crimes' of a dead teenager, just to defend someone like Joey Barton......

I've not seen anything official, the only report I found said he would have been done for death by dangerous driving. THat may have included being over the limit, but it didnt mention it. It's not something I'd heard.Originally posted by MattyRangers View PostTbf to the poster I also heard he was drink driving. Apologies if thats incorrect though.
It was crass enough to use Ray Jones death as a defence of Joey Barton, but exaggeration wasn't necessary on top of that.

What is wrong with calling someone a drama queen, as if you can be bothered to check the urban dictionary, it was the perfect word to use to describe the post I was responding to.Originally posted by Stanley76 View PostSteady Paul. Just stick to arguments without the digs please.
1. Drama Queen
An overly dramatic person.
2. Drama Queen
Someone who turns something unimportant into a major deal. Someone who blows things way out of proportion when ever the chance is given.
