I feel sorry for Joey and it looks like it wasnt his fault and any blame on him for this is unjust imho but the problem we have is that our club is in a transitional period and for once we have a stable and positive board, a top manager and funds. The club want to move forward with a new stadium and training ground and attract top talent and global sponsorship. Our owners are respected businessmen, who probably see the brand QPR as a way of globalising their business interest and brining in sponsorship deals for the club.

At the end of the day they don't deserve all the negative media interest (whether it's warranted or not by JB). I think people can handle the odd mess up but it's been consistent drivel whether supporting the toon and slagging off their board, backstabbing NW, having a go at the training regime, allegations of dividing the camp, trying to headbutt someone in a must win game, embarrassing the club and getting sent of against city. Slagging off England legends who might be annoying but probably don't deserve to be abused by JB. 12 match ban at a time when the club want to strengthen. Just embarrassing IMHO.
This is when he is our captain and really hasn't done it on the pitch for us, we have been consistently overrun in midfield. At the end of the day, players earn big wages for a reason.

if he hasnt provoked the other blokes, then what has he done wrong? he can hardly stay inside his whole life and only go out for training and matches. if he started it, then yes it is his fault.

Joey Barton attack: I was sucker punched

Joey Barton has played down the 5.30am fracas outside a nightclub that resulted in police tending to the QPR midfielder, by insisting that he was not injured in the attack.

They have a saying in Thailand - 'Som Nom Na'

Translation - 'Reap what you sow'.

Think this sums our Joey up.

                        Some facts about Joey -
He was a thug, proven in court.
He's not always nice to his team mates - Cigar anyone ?
He's a liar, confessed to FA, he was neither told to or tried to get Man City player sent off.
He's misguided, thinks he's one of the best midfielders in the country and should still be playing for England (to be fair he probably could if not for the next point)
He's no where near as good as he thinks he is. Above average in a handful of games last season and the Optra stats show him to be the worst in the Prem at conceding possession (491 times, I recall)
He's a liability - Norwich (unfortunate, benefit of doubt given), Man City (beyond doubt)
He's our highest wage earner (speculation rather than fact, but I doubt anyone will deny it, least of all HIM !)
He'll miss almost a third of our season.

On the plus side our Captain scored 3, assisted about the same and he's ours for the foreseeable future.
Of course, come August 18th, a new Premiership season will start and no one will care too much about him at least until late November by which time he'll have robbed us of another £million. But what the hell.....we can afford it.

Time is a great healer, but I do wonder (and it's hyperthetical) how many would be sticking up for him, had Bolton scored/not conceeded and forced relegation on us having conceeded those 2 late goals ?

The way he reacted at city, bizarre ramblings on twitter, a club who clearly don't want him but appear stuck because of contractual reasons and now this. Regardless of whfault the Liverpool incident is,ose the geezer needs help. Some people can handle pressure like giggsy and some can't. Bit worried about our captain.

                          That´s the point.

Wow, we really do have some pathetic fans.

Joey Barton gets attacked at 5am by some drunken idiots.

                            He's disgraced the club.

Ray Jones drinkdrives and crashes his car at 5am, killing several people.

                            He's a saint.

Don't recall many on WATRBs saying Jones 'disgraced the club'. I know which one I find considerably more disgraceful.

Let's not forget that this was Joey's first OFF THE PITCH incident since he joined us, and it appears he wasn't even in the wrong here.

This really needs some context. These incidents were years ago. Barton is a recovering alcoholic.
